Check out yoga at the Woman’s Club! Your mind-body connection will thank you!

Carpinteria Womans Club 21.08.2019

Yin/Yang Yoga at the Carp Woman's Club Yin is a feminine principle representing dark, cool, passive, receptive and introspective energy. Yin yoga was developed to penetrate deep into the connective tissue, expanding flexibility, and aiding healing, while loosening energy blockages thus increasing energy flow. Yang is a masculine principle embodying light and heat. Yang is active, extrospective, outward and... upward moving. Yang classes are more traditional asana classes designed to build stamina and muscular strength. This Yin/Yang class is a balance of both principles. The class starts the practice deep and introspective with yin postures and focus on breath support. In the last half of class the practice evolves into more energizing and uplifting sun salutations and poses. At the very end of practice a supported restorative pose is offered before savasana. Whats not to like? Tuesdays & Thursdays 6-7:15 pm with Leanna Doyle !! See more

You are invited to join us at the Carpinteria Woman’s Club on Wed, April 11, 7 pm For a presentation on the Year of the (CARP) Dog Park.... Spurred into action by the idea of this year’s Chinese New Year, Year of the Dog, a few Carpinteria residents and dog owners decided to approach the City Council to consider off-leash dog areas and dog parks. That few has grown from 30 community members speaking out last month at the Council meeting, to over 200 motivated, dog loving advocates. Learn how this doggedly determined grass roots effort is unleashing a flurry of excitement! Leading the presentation is Carpinteria resident, Van Fleisher, who has been spearheading the dog park movement with great support from dozens of others. Van has recently retired from his international management consulting career and has written and published a thriller novel in his newly acquired spare time. He and his Carpinteria singer-songwriter partner, Jackie Morris, and their Golden Doodle, Yogi, divide their time between Carpinteria and southwestern France. As always, please bring a friend and a dish or bottle to share!
