SIGN UP NOW FOR LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION CLASS Former Carpinteria Community Pool Supervisor Tamara Cloud will return to lead a Lifeguard Certification Class in m...id-November. The City hires lifeguards throughout the year, and American Red Cross certification is required for all City lifeguards. To qualify for the class, students must be at least 15 years old and able to swim 300 yards continuously using two strokes. The class begins with an evening session on Friday, Nov. 15, then continues with three full-day sessions on Nov. 16, 17, and 23. The final session includes a test.
