Although we were not be able to host our annual Santa Day at the Ranch, we still made it our goal to spread as much holiday cheer to the students of Carousel Ranch in a safe and friendly way. With the help of Pardee Homes (Pardee Homes LA/Ventura), returning as our events sponsor for the 14th year straight, Santa Day at Home was a great success. We were able to bring each student a Santa Day box packed full of fun. The box was meant to replicate the many things that the... students usually experience at the annual party held at the ranch. Each box included a letter from Santa, stationary and an envelope addressed to Santa at the North Pole, a Christmas card from their Carousel Ranch instructor, reindeer food, homemade cookies, a s’mores kit, craft kits, temporary holiday tattoos, a plush toy and even a very special Carousel Ranch coloring book with crayons made especially for this occasion (to name a few of the items). This Christmas we found a way to deliver holiday cheer in a fun and safe way for all the students at the ranch. We want to remind everyone to wear a mask wash your hands social distance .... This past summer our Executive Director’s sister-in-law, Lisa Redmond Linden (Owner of Fabric and Frills), created a custom made Carousel Ranch quilt specifically for our #HOTWatHome auction. After Patrick and Joan Daems purchased this beautiful quilt during HOTW, they decided to donate it back to the ranch so we could give it to a student who would really need and love it... After months of hospitalizations and surgeries we knew Kylee was the right student to receive it. Tho...ugh she moved to Arizona earlier this year, her love for the ranch always remained. We are so glad she will always have a piece of the ranch with her Thank you Carousel Ranch for sending me this AMAZING BEAUTIFUL quilt. I wish I videoed her reaction to getting this blanket. She said ‘now I can have a little bit of ranch with me. I will always cherish it forever. We already miss sweet Savannah so much but we’re happy that she gets to be reunited with her people From Day #1, Savannah fit right into our equestrian program! She has the most gentle, kind spirit and as you can see, she loved to snuggle every student after their lesson. She was affectionately called Black Beauty by most of our student which made them feel like they’re were riding a story book horse. We feel so thankful that Savannah’s owners let us love and care for her over the past 3.5 years and we’re happy that she has a loving home to spend the rest of her days. With one class currently in session, we are absolutely amazed how these young adults are able navigate, remain optimistic, and reach new heights every day!
