Happy Thanksgiving! We hope everyone can enjoy the this holiday at Carnegie. Here are a few reminders: Park capacity is in effect. Do not park or block Corral Hollow road. Sign up for text alerts to receive texts about whether capacity limit has been reached or lifted by texting "OHV" to (662) 200-4303.... Campground is FULL. The campfire ban has been lifted. COVID Restrictions are still in effect: - No large gatherings. Only groups of 8 people from within the same household - Practice social distancing by staying 6 feet away from others - Wear a mask when you are within 6 feet of others - Bring own soap and hand sanitizer Ride Safe Everyone! #CarnegieSVRA #StayontrailatCarnegie
The MX and ATV track will be closed for grooming tomorrow, Oct. 22.
Trail closures were from off-trail riding that was found in almost every resource management area this past week. The resources team has been working hard to fix these areas.
In order to meet social distancing requirements by San Joaquin and Alameda Counties, Carnegie has limited camping and day use availability. Day Use: Due to limited day use availability, Carnegie encourages visitors to arrive during off peak hours which is typically in the afternoon on weekends and holidays. Park gates open at 8am. Do not park or block Corral Hollow road before 8am. Camping: 8 people, single family household per campsite- 2 vehicles and 1 towed vehicle allowed. Check-out 10am. Check-in 2pm. NO DAY USE PARKING IN THE CAMPGROUND
West hills are open from Carol Canyon to East Franciscan. Pottery Loop, Water Tank Hill, West Franciscan remain closed due to the Hollow fire in July.
A reminder as the park gets busier to use hand signals letting opposite traffic know how many riders are in your group, especially around blind corners.
Tarantula Season is Here! It's that time of year when tarantulas start to come in the evening looking for love. While they are not aggressive and harmless to humans, we recommend not touching them, but encourage pictures. ... Campers may want to double check their sleeping bags at night!

Red Sticker Season opens today, October 1, 2020. SPARK ARRESTORS REQUIRED Please remember to use best practices when in the park to mitigate the spread of Covid-19: - Park 8 feet away from other vehicles - Stay 6 feet away from others outside your household... - Face mask is recommended while not actively recreating and where social distancing is not possible. - No large gatherings (use of picnic tables and BBQ pits prohibited) -Campsites are first come first serve Check in 2pm Check out 12pm - Campground limited to 8 people max single family household and 2 vehicles max per campsite (NO GROUP CAMPING) - Wash hands frequently (bring soap & hand sanitizer) Fire restrictions in effect: No campfires, NO wood or charcoal BBQs, NO open flame, NO smoking. Gas BBQ and stoves are OK in designated areas clear of flammable materials
Fire restriction are currently in effect in the park including no wood burning fires in designated campground fire rings and no smoking anywhere in the park.
The smoke gives off an eerie feeling in the park today. We are open with surprisingly cool temperatures, but the air quality is still not very good.
Extreme Heat Warning for this Labor Day Weekend! If you plan to ride in the hills please ride with a buddy and bring extra water. Stay Cool Everyone!
