Sea Lions are back! Nice to hear them barking at the harbor again. Here you can see the fog mixing with smoke from all the fires. People seem to be happy though!

This beautiful art mural was commissioned by the City of Carmel! Just prior to the pandemic everything was going smoothly to install a unique selfie-wall. Then suddenly it hit us! The talented local artist, Marie-Clare, had to push to get this done. It turned out fabulous! Come by Mission and 6th, by Paloma’s and the park, to take yours. Not everything is super serious, just wear a face mask. Do have some fun!

Just a walk in the neighborhood of Carmel, you’ll see Tor House and all sorts of fairy tale properties! This was built by poet Robinson Jeffers in 1918 for his wife, Una, and their twin sons. He did this work and was able to compose his poetry here by the ocean. It was wild at Carmel Point during that time and it still has a rustic vibe about it. Hawk Tower is another building on the property, also made of local granite. Try doing a self-guided wandering tour. Tor House outdoor, guided tours are offered on Friday & Saturday. So much more to do around here than just the beach. Pick any street south of Ocean Ave and find joy in a hidden paradise by the sea!
