"Resilience: Carmel During Covid" Carmel Heritage is currently seeking submissions for a new exhibit that will open in the First Murphy House in the spring. The exhibit will feature photos of the daily life of Carmel residents as we change our behaviours and learn how to live during a pandemic. Support for the exhibit is provided by the Arts Council of Monterey County and the City of Carmel. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to submit entries that capture ...people, places, and things that illustrate the local story of the year 2020. For example: images of individuals, families, hotels and inns, restaurants, care-givers, teachers, celery, essential workers, and other views of our community working together to keep each other safe. Current images will be juxtaposed with archival photos from the Society's collection of the 1918 pandemic, furthering our permanent exhibit theme: "Then/Now: Carmel". Those interested in submitting a photo for consideration in the exhibit may send a .jpg to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is December 12. If you require and additional information, please contact the Society's office at 831.624.4447 or our e-mail: [email protected]. See more
Please join our friends at the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy for their virtual 2020 conference. Saving Wright Now will take you on an enriching virtual tour of just under twenty sites and some fifty years, as we examine the current state of the conservancy effort and celebrate the role of the Conservancy community in that effort. Details and tickets can be found at this link: https://www.accelevents.com/e/savingwrightnow.
