Poseidon, a water company with a branch in Carlsbad, plans to be purifying 50 gallons of seawater a day right here in town by 2016, according to the Union-Tribune. Here's an interesting look at a project that, when completed, is expected to meet 7 to 10 percent of San Diego's water needs.

CBFF is hosting a reception with Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall, Pro Tem Mayor Ann Kulchin, and several corporate executives who support CBFF. The reception is intended to raise awareness and funding to support CBFF's coastal projects. Representatives from North County's top Corportations have been invited. CBFF is hoping to secure more Founding Sponsors, who will be recognized at the 5th anniversary Carlsbad Beach Fest on June 9, 2012 for their leadership and noble participation. The reception will be held at the Relm Bistro on State St. in downtown Carlsbad, 4-6pm.
