Remembering our veterans today, but also our colleague Dr. Matthew Schwinger, who we lost 10 years ago today. Dr. Schwinger lobbied hard for a fish tank for our patients and we just upgraded the tank. One of the original fish, Big Al (aka Spot) is still with us and outgrew the old one! We miss you, Dr. Schwinger.

With gratitude for his years of service, today we announce the retirement of Ting Yee, M.D. from the practice of medicine. Dr. Yee has been in practice for over 37 years, the last 17 with Cardiovascular Consultants Medical Group. With his extensive cardiac knowledge, tireless work ethic and gentle nature, Dr. Yee provided his patients incomparable cardiac care. He is admired and appreciated by his patients, staff and colleagues and will be truly missed. We wish Dr. Yee every happiness and good health in his retirement. Cheers!

Lunch was amazing and the joy you brought these incredible healthcare workers was obvious. Shout out to the CMA (California Medical Association) too, for their generous supply of PPE, provided at no cost to physician groups in California. Thank you to a very special lady who made and donated masks to our dedicated staff members. While we are able to do a large portion of our consultations and visits using video conferencing, our technicians continue to work with patients on a daily basis. Last week we lost one of the co-founders of our group, Dr. David Naruse. Dr. Naruse was truly one of the kindest and best cardiologists I ever had the opportunity to work with. He co-founded this group in a time before cell phones & electronic medical records, when hard work, intelligent medical decision making and compassion were the cornerstone of medical practice. It is the foundation we were built on and his legacy lives on in the cardiologists and staff who work here today. He loved his family, loved his patients and treated everyone around him kindly. Congratulations to our very talented structural heart expert, Dr. Abhi Sinha, who recently performed his 100th TAVR (Transcatheter aortic valve replacement) as primary operator. TAVR, also called TAVI (transcatheter aortic valve implantation), is a less invasive procedure that is designed to replace a diseased aortic valve and get you back on your feet faster.
