Lake Berryessa Fisheries Collapse Recovery. NOT by Capt Cam... Capt Cam's Catch Why has Kokanee Power or CDFW not stepped up to help with the Salmon Fisheries collapse here at Berry? I got to ask WHY haven't they stepped up to do this?? Is it because they intend not to provide Berryessa with a good fishery as it had been for 40 yrs. Or are they still trying to tow along their failed experiment that has caused this collapse? They can't truly believe that their current management of Berry is working and providing a Trophy fishery Do They?? I sure hope not because it certainly without any shadow of a doubt is NOT working, guys time to change your management plans for Berry and make it your #1 priority over any and all other lakes to begin this recovery process which will take 3 to 4 years so let's get with it and get this recovery process going. What do you say KP and CDFW? You IN or OUT? How about it Gary Coe. It's been almost 10 years since the beginning of the collapse of the Kokanee and Salmon fishery here at Lake Berryessa and Kokanee power and CDFW are still managing it by misappropriating our public resource of our plants for Lake Berryessa for other Lakes not in our demographic. Without the 100K of Kokanee Plants and 150K of King Salmon plants that this lake was provided with for more than some 25+ years, it will never fully recover as it had been for 40+ years. These plants provided us with the largest and the most available population of Kokanee and Kings in the entire state. Where our children or anybody in a rowboat rental could easily catch limits of trophy size Kokanee and Kings. You didn't need to have 50 years of knowledge and no how or $100K in a boat gear and equipment to catch them. Of which you do need today with this only 10 to 20% recovered Salmon Fishery only to catch a few. Limits are not possible but for only a very few and only occasionally. This will remain this way until we get the proper amount of plants we had enjoyed for 30+ years. Kokanee Power & CDFW needs to stop this VERY FAILED management of Berry (THE BIG LIE AND RUSE) and stop misappropriating our public resource with our fishery plants. USDA Supports U.S. Seafood Industry Impacted by Retaliatory Tariffs Release & Contact Info Press Release Release No. 0366.20 Contact: USDA Press... Email: [email protected] (Washington, D.C., September 9, 2020) U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will provide approximately $530 million to support the U.S. seafood industry and fishermen impacted by retaliatory tariffs from foreign governments. The funding will be provided through the Seafood Trade Relief Program and funded through the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC), administered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA). Many nations have not played by the rules for a long time, and President Trump is the first President to stand up to them and send a clear message that the United States will no longer tolerate unfair trade practices, said Secretary Perdue. The Seafood Trade Relief Program ensures fishermen and other U.S. producers will not stand alone in facing unjustified retaliatory tariffs while President Trump continues working to solidify better and stronger trade deals around the globe. Background: The Seafood Trade Relief Program funding will support the following seafood types: Atka mackerel Crab, Dungeness, King, Snow, Southern Tanner Flounder Geoduck Goosefish Herrings Lobster Pacific Cod Pacific Ocean Perch Pollock Sablefish Salmon Sole Squid Tuna Turbot Fishermen can sign-up for relief through the program from September 14, 2020 to December 14, 2020. Fishermen should apply through their local USDA Service Center. To find your local Service Center, visit www.farmers.gov/service-center-locator. The application can be found at www.farmers.gov/seafood. All USDA Service Centers are open for business, including some that are open to visitors to conduct business in person by appointment only. All Service Center visitors wishing to conduct business with FSA, Natural Resources Conservation Service or any other Service Center agency should call ahead and schedule an appointment. Service Centers that are open for appointments will pre-screen visitors based on health concerns or recent travel, and visitors must adhere to social distancing guidelines. Visitors are also required to wear a face covering during their appointment. Our program delivery staff will be in the office, and they will be working with our producers in the office, by phone and using online tools. COMMERCIAL SALMON FISHERMEN SPEAK UP! ONLY 2 DAYS LEFT TO SPEAK UP!!! SEND EMAIL TO THIS ADDRESS: [email protected] Proposed Salmon Fishery Disaster Assistance Disbursement Plan Call for Public Review and Comment... This Spend Plan is Outrageous! It is these sole and only commercial salmon fishermen who have suffered and lost the most of all with the most affected by this disaster of lack of fish to catch. Which has caused many of them to lose everything there fishing vessel there homes there families and more? But they will receive the least amount of these funds of which its intent was for these most affected commercial Salmon fishermen not for the least affected that didn't lose anything due to being able to do other fisheries. To have income and continued business with other fisheries. It provides the most funds to the least affected and the least funds to the most affected! Will not even cover the license fees? ONLY $1200! These funds need to be divided equally to all who were licensed and maintained there licenses fees even though they could not fish due to lack of fish to catch or a closed or highly restricted season. 15 years ago we received a minimum of $5000 per Salmon vessel for only a one-year fishery disaster this disaster is for 5 years? Our costs have increased more than 3 times today that then. Capt Cam SEND EMAIL TO THIS ADDRESS: [email protected]
