The second news to bring is our own Cadet Cheif Master Sergent Thomas Radujko has been accepted to the United States Air Force Academy. He is one of the few in Civil Air Patrol National to accept the challenge of becoming a cadet in the AFA and to embark on a journey as an officer in the USAF. Cadet Cheif Master Sergent Radujko was one of the first cadets to join during the restart of our cadet programs, and during his time as a CAP Cadet, he excelled well in the program. We are so pleased and excited for him!

The start of 2021 is looking good for Sq131. 2 exciting news to be made from our cadet program. Last month, we had the honor to award Cadet Andrew Ji the Billy Mitchell Award. This is a big milestone for the cadet program as cadets now phase into the Officer Rank phases and taking their leadership skills to the new level. This also opens doors to many college opportunities as well as if they wish to go into the military such as Academy or enlisted. If enlisted, after they fin...ish bootcamp, they receive one rank above everyone else. I feel honored and proud to receive this achievement and I am grateful for the support that I have received from my friends, family, and fellow CAP members. I am excited to begin my development as a cadet officer, and I look forward to continuing to serve as a part of this squadron.- C/2LT- Ji Part 2 of great news comes again from our cadet programs. Things are looking positive this year :)

Lt. Epley has started teaching the cadets about Cybersecurity. Teaching this skill to the cadets is crucial as hacking becomes more sophisticated. Squadron 131 has gotten to semi-finals the last two years and plans to dominate this year! Thank you Lt. Epley for taking the time to teach the cadets this valuable lesson! #kmk #cawgcap #capferlyfe #goflycap #civilairpatrolmeetings #cybersecurity #cyberpatriot

Civil Air Patrol changed me. At the age of 13, I wanted to go into the Air Force. My grandfather served in the Airforce during Vietnam War and my uncle flew KC-135 Fuel Tankers, now Retired Lt. Col and flying right seat for United Airlines. Before I started High School, I was looking for JRTOC. None of the local high schools had that program. Luckily, I found CAP. I joined when I was 14 years old. Did my first O-ride a few months later and fell in love with the program even m...ore. I spent my high school years as a cadet and reached Cadet Technical Sergent. I went to encampment, went to multiple Leadership Schools, participated in Airshows, and staffed a few events. As I graduated High School, I tried to enlist but due to my medical history, I was denied. Even though I was bumped, I still thanked CAP for teaching me self-discipline, respect, motivation, and leadership. I searched to find myself another career path, and ended up with computers. What I was taught from CAP, applied to where I am now working as an IT Admin. I want to give back to CAP, so I joined back in 2016 to lead the cadets and help them achieve both their cadet goals and life goals. I can relate to them since I am only 10 years older. I am proud to be Squadron 131 Deputy Commander for Cadets. My goal is to continue helping cadets gain experience that I received in CAP and to introduce them to what it's like living in adulthood. One of the pillars of Civil Air Patrol is aerospace education for cadets. With online learning, it can be difficult to keep the cadets engaged. Capt. Rychlik has done an amazing job teaching the cadets about aerospace. Here is him giving one of his lectures virtually, and one is of a cadet learning hands on before quarantine. "Seats at ease!" #Civilairpatrol #cawgcap #capferlyfe #goflycap #civilairpatrolmeetings #aerospace
