Geting the fields ready for opening day is a lot of work. Sometimes you just have to bring out the big tools.

Spring is here, but it is far from normal. As the COVID -19 numbers are trending towards the opening of youth and high school sports, baseball is one of the first team sports to re-open. What does that mean for us? It means it is time to schedule tryouts/assessments and project our first games. The assessments will be on Saturday, March 20th, for the main day, with make-up on Sunday the 21st. It is strongly encouraged that you make your child's scheduled time on Saturday. Th...e assessments will start on field #4 with the Juniors and Intermediate, league ages 13-15. The parking lot next to the field will be closed for player arm warm-up while other assessments are taking place on the field. Then we will move more to field #3 for the Majors, league age 11-12, assessments, and we will be doing arm warm-ups on field #5. Following that, we will then run assessments for the Minors division on field #3, league age 9-10, with arm warm-ups. Our last group will be Farm ages 7-8 to assess players to try and balance teams in that division. Attached with this is a block draft of the schedule and will be A-Z by age. ALL CHECK-INS WILL BE 20 MINUTES before THE ASSESSMENT TIMES IN FRONT OF THE OFFICE/SNACK BAR AREA. Once your son or daughter is finished with the assessment, please help us maintain protocols by returning to your vehicles and exiting the facilities for the next group to come in for assessments. Bleachers will be closed to parents sitting on them during the assessments and the dugouts closed to players. Players will need to have a glove, helmet, and bat for the assessments. They MUST have closed-toe shoes. For the drafted divisions, Minors, and above, a player must attend one of the assessments to be drafted. If they do not, they will be a blind/hat pick in that division. SPECIAL NOTICE: This year, the Majors division will be a full re-draft, meaning all returning players to the Majors division will also need to attend the assessments this year. We had 6 teams last year and looking to move to 4 teams this year and will need to balance the teams per Little League International Guidelines. GAMES, we are targeting our first games on Saturday, 4/10/21! We will be coming out with a full list of protocols that will pertain to games and practices that will be mandatory. Things to possibly expect, facemasks while on the property, a limit to the number of family members at games and practices, and bleachers closed but used for the players. This will be a different year, but if we ALL work together as a team, the CCLL family will be strong and have a memorable season for the kids. Hello CCLL Families! We are currently accepting '"no up-front cost" reservations for Spring Baseball and Softball. We hope to determine how many families would be interested in participating in Spring Ball once we receive LA County's approval to move forward.... We are sure many families are just as excited about playing ball as we are; however, we understand that some families may decide they want to hold off for now. Your reservation will help us estimate our numbers, allowing us to prepare for the upcoming season. If you are interested in your child playing Spring Baseball or Softball and would like to be added to the list, please go to our WEB site at www.ccll.org and click on "Register" in the upper right corner. Also, plans are in motion for continuing Clinic Camps as we did in the Fall. More information will be available soon on our WEB site and Facebook Page. We look forward to seeing you at the fields! Sincerely, Scot Mahotz Scot Mahotz Vice President Player Agent Canyon Country Little League
