One of the greatest gifts that we often take for granted is the gift of sight. Recently, Candlelight Mission had the opportunity to learn about the Blind Vietnamese Children Foundation (BVCF) and did not hesitate to partner with BVCF to lend a helping hand. BVCF is a non-profit organization that supports health, education, and career development programs that enhance the quality of life of visually-impaired children residing in Vietnam. In Vietnam, blindness is most often resulted from poor nutrition, vitamin A deficiency, the inappropriate use of medicines, poor hygiene, limited access to eye-care services, premature birth, bombs and Agent Orange during the war, accidental injuries, among other reasons. Below are some photos of the beneficiaries, with your generous support through Candlelight Mission, have aided.

The world needs our help! Dear friends, As the COVID-19 rapidly spreads globally, ravaging the world, the implementation of shelter in place order and social distancing no doubt help to curb it; however they create negative effects of stress due to isolation, loneliness, and economical loss. The hardship is magnified for the underserved families and individuals such as the elders, the disabled, and those who have lost their livelihoods. Because of such dire conditions that... Candlelight Mission is called upon to fulfill the mission of providing temporary and urgent relief ease the burdens many of them are going through each day. We are mobilizing resources both locally and abroad to help. Locally, Candlelight Mission is working with the Bay Area community to provide and deliver care packages (bag of rice, case of water, fish sauce, rice sticks, salt, instant noodles, and masks) to individuals and families in need, especially the elders and families without means of transportation. In addition, Candlelight Mission is partnering with Tan Vinh Youth Group in Bien Hoa and volunteer individuals in Tan Hiep, Rach Gia to provide emergency financial assistance to similar underserved populations in Vietnam where the lockdowns have been reinforced. We identify their conditions as critical because most of these people are street vendors, hired helps, door-to-door food sellers, and beggars. With so little daily earning, they could barely survive before this lockdown order. Now, they literally have nothing to eat. With our limited fund, we can only commit to help 300 individual families to last for 14 days. We know that will not be enough as there are so many others out there living in desolation The world needs ALL of our help now more than ever. If you would like to join Candlelight Mission on this relieving effort, you can donate directly at https://www.candlelightmission.org/donate. For question, please contact us at [email protected]. Thank you for helping us help others. Your kindness and compassion are greatly appreciated! CLM

Thank you so much for the kind words, Chi Hong Anh! We would not have been able to do much without the love and support from our families, friends, and donors (known or anonymous). Above all, just when we felt the workload was overwhelming and the pressure was too much, we felt the presence of our LORD. Clearly Mua Dong Cua Anh Fundraising Night was far from perfect, but the ultimate goal was achieved- the financial means to help the poor and the underprivileged. Please c...ontinue to pray for CLM so we will always remain humble and will never go astray from our mission to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters. God bless us all!
