The La Tuna fire is believed to be the largest in the history of the City of Los Angeles. Combined with scorching hot temperatures, evacuations, smoke, ash, freeway closures, and so much worry, it was a rough weekend for Burbank/Glendale/Sunland residents. The Law Offices of Burg & Brock wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and admiration to the hardworking men and women of the fire agencies and law enforcement who did an incredible job keeping our homes and residents safe. T...he coordinated efforts in difficult circumstances was truly amazing! What was also amazing is the way the community came together. Neighbors and strangers alike offering help, shelter, donations and support. The evacuation centers and animal shelters working tirelessly. The local fire stations had so many donations of food and drinks for those on the front lines they had to stop accepting them! That is a beautiful thing to see. We at Burg & Brock are honored to be a part of this amazing community. Some things to keep in mind this coming week: The air quality is still very poor and temperatures remain high. If you have a health condition that may be affected, try to remain indoors. Keep an eye on your elderly friends and neighbors. Ash can damage the paint on your cars, especially if it gets wet. Try to wash your cars as soon as possible. If you car was damaged, you may be able to make a claim with your insurance company. A lot of wildlife was displaced due to the fire, which means they will be coming down the hill looking for food and shelter. Be aware and keep your small pets inside if you can, especially at night.
