Thank you for keeping your holidays fresh and local! It’s been quite a year! The COVID-19 pandemic changed the look of the market, but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of our dedicated shoppers. Thank you! Shopping at the market supports farmers, home bakers, and local companies. Each one of our vendors pays a portion of their sales in support of the market. Those fees directly support grief and bereavement counseling programs throughout Ventura County as well as one-on-one co...unseling in our Camarillo office. These programs are led by licensed therapists who specialize in grief issues. This year, the market raised $64,390. During the pandemic, all of our counseling programs (individual and group) shifted to Zoom sessions. Over 365 grieving individuals and family members were helped this year. Without the support of community donations, Light Up a Life donations, and the Farmers Market revenue, those programs would not exist. What changes can you expect at the market in 2021? Right now, no significant changes are planned. Artisans are still unable to return to the market. Ruff Smith, our volunteer market manager, continues to recruit new and seasonal agriculture and food vendors. We’ll keep you posted. First market of 2021 will be on Saturday, January 9th.
