Coming back from the dead only happens in the movies. Drug-impaired driving is deadly, and it can kill the driver, passengers, and other road users. #drugsimpairdriving

Westbound Lanes of SR-52 to Close This Weekend There will be Two Posted Detours SAN DIEGO Construction crews will be working around the clock this weekend to smooth the pavement on State Route 52 (SR-52), weather permitting. All lanes of westbound SR-52 between State Route 163 (SR-163) and Interstate 805 (I-805) will close from 4:30 p.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday.... There will be two detours available for motorists: Use SR-163, to westbound Interstate 8, to northbound Interstate 5 to SR-52. Use I-15 to the Miramar Road off-ramp, go east on Miramar Road to the southbound I-805 on-ramp, to SR-52. Crews began in late August on a $16.5 million project to smooth the pavement between SR-163 and I-805. Crews are working daily to complete the project by early November. On weeknights, at least one lane remains open during the construction hours between 4:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Nearly 30 highway workers are working this area each night. Motorists are advised to slow down and obey the speed reduction signs posted on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway.

Caltrans District 11, SANDAG, and the City of San Marcos - Government are pleased to announce we have filed the Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the I-15/SR 78 M...anaged Lanes Direct Connectors project, which notifies the public that environmental studies have been initiated for the project. The NOP also begins a minimum 30-day public scoping comment period. Your input early in this process will help shape the draft environmental report that evaluates potential alternatives to reduce travel times, encourage multi-occupant vehicle usages, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The project will move more people and improve access to key residential and employment centers along the growing SR 78 corridor, while reducing the overall amount of vehicle miles traveled. Comments will be accepted between Thursday, October 19 and Friday, November 20. Litter removal was limited to protect the health and safety of Caltrans crews during the health crisis. Due to accumulation of trash on the highways as traffic begins to increase, Caltrans and its partner organizations like Adopt-A-Highway began collecting garbage statewide in June. The department is also partnering with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to enforce the state’s anti-littering laws.
