Windsurfers had a great Women in Windsurfing workshop on Sunday Oct. 25th, Bay Area superstar windsurfers Asma Asyyed and Meredith Robert, who started their wind careers at CSC, led the workshop. Asma and Meredith covered topics like: female specific considerations when rigging, waterstarting and setting harness lines, motherhood and windsurfing, understanding Berkeley wind and wave conditions, using a harness and a few freestyle tricks to practice in light winds: backwindi...ng and clew first sailing. We had great showing of CSC members of all levels, maxing out participation with the covid restrictions. In total, we had 8 CSC sailors and a few members of the local windsurfing community. We are now open 7-days a week! (with COVID addendum rules) Monday - Friday: 12:00pm - 7:30pm Sat/Sun: 9:00am - 7:30pm New members - please keep in mind we are operating on a limited basis. Windsurfing there are lessons Sat/Sunday morning through a reservation system on our website (that being said - we only have access to one dock right now and with COVID and social distancing we can only have 8 students per day). For dinghy sailors we have Saturday ground school, educatio...nal videos - but no on the water lessons. If you are an experienced dinghy sailor there may be opportunity for you to pass a junior or novice test and get on the water! Please bear with us, we are as sad as you are not to be out on the water COVID free teaching sailing lessons. For returning members, please make sure you read through the website and available updates through emails. Inside is a working hydraulic model of SF Bay and Sacramento - San Joaquin river delta systems that stimulate tide, currents, sediment movement.
