Kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are BACK! Starting tomorrow, Saturday 10/17, the UC Aquatics Center at the Berkeley Marina will be open for complimentary kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals to UC Berkeley students! Here’s what you need to know before you go: Rentals are totally free for UC Berkeley students All users need to make a reservation on the Rec Sports online store Reservations are limited to 2-1/2 total hours ... Reservations can be made up to one week prior to the start time of the rental Users can cancel their reservation up to two hours before the rental start time To help keep everyone safe and healthy, students will need to show a copy of their reservation and daily symptom screener before they are allowed access to the UCAC or the equipment. It’s been a minute but, we’re BACK! We are excited to announce that on November 16, the Recreational Sports Facility will resume limited in-person operations for UC Berkeley students! But first things first. In order to ensure we’re in compliance with national, state, local, and campus guidelines, we’ll ask for your patience and cooperation with the following:... 1. RSF Usage Reservations: To ensure physical distancing and density capacity requirements, we will limit capacity for all Group Fitness classes, weight room, and cardio equipment usage. Advance booking will be required to access the various activity spaces in the RSF. Students will need to show a completed daily symptom screener, Cal1 card, and a green badge on the eTang patient portal before they are allowed entrance to the RSF. Individuals unable to provide proof of clearance will be denied access. 2. Physical Distancing & Face Coverings: In order for users to give each other enough space, physical distancing cues will be marked in the RSF activity areas. Physical distancing signs will show which equipment is available for use, and signs will be placed throughout the Weight Rooms, Cardio Areas, and Blue Gym to remind users to wipe down equipment before and after use and to practice physical distancing. Users are required to wear a face covering at all times. Note: Some persons may be exempt from wearing face coverings. For more information, please review the City of Berkeley guidance on face coverings. 3. Cleaning & Disinfecting: In addition to existing cleaning protocols, we have added a enhanced cleaning and disinfecting process during the day, consistent with national, state, local and campus guidelines. We are asking all staff and users to support these rigorous cleaning protocols. Disinfectant wipes are available throughout the RSF for users to use on exercise equipment before and after use.
