The CPP staff behind Billy Chat appeared on Good Day L.A. this morning along with a pair of students that can attest to the support our beloved chatbot provided. Join the today's birthday party livestream for one of our favorite animals on campus, Oreo the lamb! Oreo was a little guy when he was born and he had so many brothers and sisters competing for his mother's milk, he had to be bottle fed to survive. Because he's been handled so much by our students and staff since he was born, he is especially friendly with people, among other lovable traits. Come celebrate his first birthday (with all his petting farm friends) today on Facebook live at 2 pm!
This month marks one year since the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared COVID-19 a pandemic. It was at that same time that our campus transitioned almost entirely to virtual instruction and work. In such a short time span, many in our community have experienced the loss of family, friends, and/or colleagues. Our virtual campus-wide moment of reflection takes place Friday, March 26 at 12 p.m. in remembrance of those we've lost. Zoom information was emailed out... today. Please refer to your email for details about the event. If you'd like to submit a photo memory to be featured in a slideshow played at the conclusion of the event, please submit your photo by Thursday, March 25. Details to submit a photo are available in the email.

"Families need to remember to be patient with their children, teachers and most importantly, themselves. We are all trying to do the best we can, but sometimes technology does not cooperate. With a little bit of patience and grace, we will find what works best for our families and provide assistance where needed. It is vital to keep the communication lines open with families and educators because our main goal is student success." A male alligator lizard can grip a female lizard’s head in his jaws for up to two days possibly as part of the species’ mating strategy. The New York Times featured a recent paper co-authored by CPP researchers Prof. Kristopher Lappin, Prof. Robert Talmadge and Allyn Nguyen (’18 MS) on the mechanics of how the males are able to do this for so long. Alligator lizards are common in our area and you are probably close to one right now.
