Instead of ham, we are offering a glazed squash with crispy chickpeas, pecans, and spring onion, plus vegan versions of the sides listed above. Pickup will be between 10 am and 2 pm on Sunday, April 4th. We are making pies!!! Everybody eats! We picked up an extra meal this month for the ECHO homeless shelter in Atascadero. Today we are preparing locally caught bass with brown rice, and roasted vegetables. Thank you kindly for your support of this market - it enables us to provide fresh food in our lovely little town, take excellent care of our staff, to maintain the market, and to feed those in need. It takes a village!

Macaroons! Erin and team are making some special orders of this fluffy and crunchy coconut cookie - some will be available in our deli case later this afternoon! Baker Marcus is at it again with his delectable Khachapuri Sourdough Breakfast Turtles! He has made four varieties today. Starting with his housemade sourdough, he then makes a cute little dough turtle and fills it with a rotation of roasted veggies, pancetta, cheese, etc. and tops the whole party with an egg. Ummm. While everyone helps out with almost everything at the market, we do have job focuses and are looking for a lead cashier, a bakery assistant (no experience necessary, will train the right team member), and an evening cashier’s assistant (appropriate for a high-school mentorship position). Everybody eats! Thank you to our neighbor Joe who came on board our staff just to help out with ECHO meals! Today for the shelter dinner, he smoked tri-tip and ham. We also roasted local veggies for a salad and are making banana bread. We delivered a meal last Friday and again on Tuesday. Thank you to your support of our market at our recent craft sale, we were able to pick up two extra meals this month! Caliwala is committed to all profits going toward paying our staff well, maintaining the market, giving groceries to those in need, and feeding the homeless - now and in longevity.
