In the early morning of August 9th 2020, a driver driving at a high rate of speed traveling east on Decatur Street lost control of their vehicle hitting all FOUR of California Veterans Assistance Foundation's company vehicles at our Decatur location. We are asking for your HELP!

Has COVID-19 affected your ability to pay your rent or mortgage? You may be eligible to receive one-time rent or mortgage assistance if you live in Kern County,... pay more than 30% of your income for housing, and have lost income or incurred medical bills greater than $1,000. Participating in these programs is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Step 1 : To find out if you qualify or request more information, call 2-1-1 immediately. Step 2 : A Referral Screener will ask you a series of questions to determine and verify your eligibility for the program. Step 3 : After verifying your eligibility and completing necessary paperwork, assistance is paid directly to your landlord or mortgage company. The maximum assistance is $5,000, and payments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis while funding lasts. For more information, call 2-1-1. Thank you to the County of Kern, California and The City of Bakersfield - Government for funding these programs, and our program partners The Housing Authority of the County of Kern, Community Action Partnership of Kern and Bakersfield Homeless Center.

Ok Ridgecrest. This is a military town so please help me out here. Ridgecrest Veterans Advisory Council has been asked to gather bios and pictures from Veterans... in our local area. We do this ever year as part of the Petroglyph festival. This year we need to keep it very basic as the RACVB would like to put them on their social media page. With everything being closed down they are being asked to do the festival virtual. If you can help please submit all bio's to me at [email protected] if any questions please feel free to call me @ 760-608-9251 We would also like to use these to honor out Veterans in the month of November. I will create a group honoring our Veterans in November. Would love to have some Native American Veteran Bios for "Native American Heritage Month". PLEASE HELP US MAKE THIS A REALITY. Would love to see some Bio's and pictures from some of those city leaders or those running for office. See more
