Hello to all our lovely patients! Let's talk COVID-19! By now, we are sure that you've heard about the global pandemic of coronavirus, the virus causing the disease COVID-19. We wanted to reassure each and every one of you that our office has adopted a very strict protocol that includes enhanced sanitation and limited patient-to-patient contact to reduce any possible exposure to the virus.... A few points: 1. We are here to help you figure out if your child can be seen here at the office, can be monitored at home, or needs a higher level of care 2. We can still see your child for a visit, as we recognize that the normal pediatric illnesses and problems haven't disappeared to make way for COVID-19! 3. We are available for telemedicine visits, during which we can come up with a plan for your child's current illness. Give us a call to set up a telemedicine visit! Our office will continue to be here for you, our patients, during these uncertain and evolving times. Big (virtual) hugs to all! With much love, California Pediatrics

If you have a school-aged student in need of breakfast and lunch this summer (or know of someone who does), simply text "FOOD" to 877877 and receive a text message back with a location closest to where they can get free summer meals. Even if you aren't in need, someone else's kids are. No child deserves to go hungry, ever. This is a nationwide program, run by No Kid Hungry. Did you know that babies’ skulls are very soft, and that everyday surfaces (car seat, mattress, etc), can lead to flat spots on the back or sides of their head? The resulting misshapen head is called plagiocephaly! Lots of tummy time, head repositioning, and gentle neck stretches (if indicated) can help to prevent this, but sometimes our babies need a little extra help in reshaping their cute heads in the form of this cute little helmet! Our NP Sasha’s baby girl recently got her helmet from our friends at Cranial Technologies, and is on her way to reshaping her flat spot You can even have a little fun in decorating the helmet! Wondering if your baby has a flat spot? Let us know!
