CDSA is honoring Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins with the 2020 Legislative Leadership Award. Pro Tem Atkins has long been an ally and supporter to the intellectual and developmental disability community and she came through in a critical moment this year. Her leadership protected individuals with I/DD from potential cuts to the programs they rely on, preserved the direct care workforce, and provided stability for I/DD services in uncertain times.
