2019 - A few of my Naked Neck Frizzled Satins hatched in 2019.

I got these to use on the cockerels when I take them to convalescent homes but I think they actually look pretty cute on the girls too!

Trying to decide who to enter in the next show so thought I'd snap a few pics while I'm at it. Here are some of the paints - nothing spectacular but improving. I like the first one but her spots are so small, not sure she's even worth taking. Opinions please?

Shame on me! I was so thrilled about my splash winning Reserve Champion of Show at the Calif. State Fair that I completely forgot to post pictures of my beautiful Partridge girl that won Reserve Featherleg. Plus my white, blue, & paint all won Best Variety. Congratulations to all my girls.

Thank You Bethanie Rasmussen for sending me pictures & letting me know that my splash pullet, Sprite, won Reserve of Show at the California State Fair this year! This was her very first show so she even beat out some of my old timers - including Muffin, my partridge hen that joined her on Champion Row & won Reserve Champion Featherleg. Way to go girls!!! I took 22 of my cuties to the CA State Fair this morning & boy did they make me feel guilty. This is the only show we go to that has wire bottom cages & my girls HATE it!! All the other shows we go to have wood under the cages with shavings & as soon as they're cooped in the girls perk right up, eat, drink & start chatting. Not at this show! The minute their feet hit that wire they just freeze in place & will not move! Other than that, the Fur n' Feathers show is great - nice air conditioned building, nice people to work with, & very educational - eggs hatching & exotic birds too. Pics below are before the show, when everyone was still happy. I was going to take pics after coop in but everyone was either in a corner looking terrified or glaring at me with the evil eye! Can't wait to go pick them up Sunday night!

If I wasn't already a bit hooked on Sizzle Naked Necks, these cuties would definitely have pushed me over the edge. Is it just me, or does everyone have a hard time looking at these cuties without smiling or even laughing out loud!!

Yippee!!! We broke the variety barrier!! My beautiful blue frizzle Silkie won Champion Featherleg at the Northern Nevada Poultry Fanciers show today! Read th...is again - A FRIZZLE SILKIE WON CFL! Then she went on to win APA RESERVE CHAMPION BANTAM. Sorry for shouting, but to me, this is a VERY big deal. Gabby is gorgeous & previous judges have all had great things to say about her, but the highest anyone would ever place her was Best Variety - until now! I am beyond thrilled! Great show, put on by some terrific people, & of course the judge, Gary Agajanian, is the greatest judge in the whole world!! And not just because of how he placed Gabby & the nice things he said about her. He did a great job & also took the time to go over all the birds on champion row & explain in detail why they placed like they did. I wish all judges would do that, and I realize that many can't because of time constraints, but I really enjoyed hearing the how & why of the placements. More pictures tomorrow. 2017 Cocks & Cockerels - Most of my old boys are still doing their job, but I like to have back ups so have added a few younger boys to some of the pens & started a few new pens with some of the extras. Here are a few & I'll add more pictures later. June 16 - just added a few more.

Wow! This year is going much too fast & I'm having a hard time keeping up with chick & egg sales plus chores so not getting much FB time. I have a few minutes now so going to try & catch up on posting a few pictures from 2017. I have a few Naked Neck (Showgirl) pictures so guess I'll start with those. I really didn't like these for quite a while but they must be getting cuter or else they're just growing on me - not sure which.
