Today is #WorldStrokeDay. We wanted to take a moment to raise awareness for stroke treatment and celebrate all of our stroke survivors and their families. Throughout the month, several of our hospitals across the country participated in our #StrideOn Stroke Walk. Current and former patients, family members and our employees donned their favorite costumes and participated in a virtual Halloween-themed walk. It was great to see so much support for stroke survivorsand some pretty creative costumes too.

California Rehabilitation Institute’s Environmental Services Technician Robert Wimley Jr. recently helped to coordinate a donation of 1,000 branded cloth masks to the hospital from the student and professional volunteer organization ASEZ. ASEZ stands for Save the Earth from A to Z striving to solve practical problems worldwide while inspiring more altruism in our youth. Robert has been involved in World Mission Society Church of God since 2011 and became involved with ASEZ through the church. We thank Robert and his group of ASEZ volunteers for their mask making efforts. While we’ll continue to wear our medical-grade masks at work, we’ll don the new masks with pride to remain safe while we’re in our community.
