Happy New Year fellow Grizzlies!!!! Hoping you all have a safe and healthy new year. Also hoping that we will be able to have Homecoming this year and that many of you will be able to make it. One thing I have learned through this pandemic is the power of friendship and that reconnecting with old friends is powerful medicine.

Hey Fellow Grizzlies - I'm sure some of you already know that all Fall Sports have been postponed and moved to the Spring due to the uncertainty of COVID-19. At this time, there is no final word on what this will look like in terms of Homecoming during the 2020/2021 school year. I will keep you posted as I receive updates. Obviously, this is a very fluid situation. We all hope that our fellow Grizzlies and their families/loved ones and friends stay safe during this pandemic. ...We have already heard reports of Grizzlies being affected my this crisis and our positive thoughts and prayers go out to them. Be good to each other and to those around you! Grizzly Pride!

Hello Fellow Grizzlies! The California High School Alumni Association (volunteer, non-profit organization) is currently looking for a candidate to fill the open position of Board Secretary. The main responsibility of the Board Secretary is to record the minutes of each Board meeting (typically held 4x/year). You do not have to live in the area as Board meetings are usually held via conference call. Additionally, we are adding two committee positions to our organization: Eve...nts and Communications. Events Chairperson: Primary responsibility of the Events Coordinator is to take the lead with actively planning our annual Homecoming Event, including but not limited to: ***Communicating with Committee members via conference call and email leading up to Homecoming ***On-site coordination on Homecoming Day/night working with Alumni Board and faculty/staff to execute Alumni activities Other events to be mutually agreed upon by Events Chairperson and Alumni Board It is not the responsibility of the Events Chairperson to plan/organize Reunions Events Chairperson will report to the Vice President of the Board Communications Chairperson: ***Primary responsibility of Communications person will be communicating to all Alumni via email, Facebook as well as any other relevant means ***Objective is to increase alumni outreach and keep alumni up to date on news and activities etc. Communications Chairperson will initially report to the President of the Board and will eventually report to Secretary of the Board These nonprofit positions are great opportunities for you to reconnect with fellow Grizzly Alumnus and are also great resume enhancement opportunities. Fellow Grizzlies, we are saddened to hear of the loss of Jory Harmon (class of '77) who passed away suddenly this past weekend. Jory will be missed and his memory will live on in the spirit of California High School. We do not have any details of his passing. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Class of 1980 members (and those who started with us and either graduated early or moved before graduation). Our 40th year reunion is on Saturday October 24 (Homecoming is on Oct. 23).
