One of many types of drills you can do with hurdles, this one has one foot between each hurdle. Finish strong by sprinting forward or turn & sprint after the last hurdle. Advanced drills include reacting to a coach pointing the desired direction. So much of football is about reacting to something else, a good way to practice this is to do it with every drill (once you learn the technique, of course.)

Towing improves form running technique and develops leg strength. You can do this with a partner holding onto your shirt, pulling a partner holding a rope, towing a sled or tire, pulling a parachute (running short distances uphill will really develop great leg strength as well).

So much of football is change of direction. This drill helps develop change of direction skills moving forward and backward while remaining balanced & under control.

Learning to shuffle laterally while keeping your shoulders square to the line of scrimmage will put you in a better position to make a play. Don't cross your feet and don't tap your feet together.

Learning how to run a fast 40 is important. One key component is the get-off for the first 10 yards. Stay low, pump arms and legs, then slowly climb like a plane taking off from the runway.

This develops power to the legs during change of direction.

The Ickey Shuffle is a lot of fun. It develops quick feet and change of direction skills. Learn this by walking through it first, then slowly increasing speed with each repetition.
