IN A PERSONAL INJURY LAWSUIT? HERE ARE 4 SOCIAL MEDIA TIPS TO FOLLOW If you’re currently fighting in a personal injury lawsuit, it’s important to maintain a certain level of social media decorum when you’re online, as your social media can be bad for your personal injury case. Being thoughtful and responsible on your social media accounts can help your lawyer build your case and won’t give the person you’re facing the upper hand in court. Your personal injury attorney will de...finitely thank you! DON’T POST ABOUT YOUR CASE The biggest rule for being involved in a lawsuit and being on social media is to simply not post anything at all about your case online. This can help reduce the amount of information that the other side has to use against you, and because you’re presumably not a lawyer, you may not always say the right things online that will not count against you. DON’T POST ABOUT YOUR INJURY If you do post on social media, make sure you don’t post about your injury that’s included in the lawsuit. Any updates about your injury, your medical treatments, surgeries, or physical therapy can be taken out of context and potentially used against you. Even a simple Feeling good today! status could be taken out of context and used to prove that you were not truly affected by your injuries in the ways you claim. DON’T POST TRAVEL PHOTOS Do not post anything about physical movement or travel on your profiles. While it may be impressive that you traveled to Europe, it can be used against you in court if it appears that you’re well enough to travel and take a vacation. ENCOURAGE FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME Personal injury lawsuits are serious business. That means that you should encourage your friends, family, and anyone else who’s close to you and may normally post about you to follow the same rules that you’re following. If they care about you, they will do what they can to ensure you have success in your case. If you’re ever involved in an auto accident, let the experience and expertise of Attorney Angelo Campano of The Campano Law Group, guide you through the process. How To Determine The Best Personal Injury Attorney For Your Case If you are seriously injured because of an accident, defective product or medical malpractice, you should carefully select an attorney to represent you. The significance of choosing a skilled attorney cannot be overstated. The personal injury attorney you hire can make a huge impact on the outcome of your case. What experience does your attorney have? A general practitioner may handle a variety of legal matters ...such as real estate, contracts, bankruptcy, wills and estates. Other attorneys dedicate their practice solely to representing injury victims. Although there’s no guarantee that an injury attorney will get a better result than a general practitioner, you should know what percentage of the attorney’s work is dedicated to injury cases. It’s important that your attorney be familiar with the value of injury settlements and awards in the venue where your case is litigated. Is your lawyer a true trial attorney? Some trial lawyers very rarely see the inside of a court room. Instead, they will accept any low-ball settlement offer to avoid the time, expense and stress of trial. Make sure you hire an attorney that knows how to do more than settle. Who will be working on your case? Many personal injury law firms operate like high volume law factories where cases are put on a standard track, paralegals work up the case and attorneys have little or no involvement with the client or file. In other instances, a firm may assign a junior associate to handle your case instead of the managing partner. Before signing a retainer agreement, ask who will handle your case and make sure you’re comfortable with the arrangement. Be aware that in the event you are unhappy with your attorney’s services, you have the right to fire them and retain new counsel. If you’re ever involved in an auto accident, trust the experience and expertise of Attorney Angelo Campano, of The Campano Law Group. Attorney Angelo Campano not only has a proven track record of success, but he will personally be there with you during the entire process. How Coronavirus Is Changing Personal Injury Standards The world continues to face a public health crisis not seen before in our generation. The Coronavirus, or COVID-19, has put our lives and our way of life at risk. People around the world are doing their best to adjust to the new normal. The team at The Campano Law Group thinks about the legal consequences of the Coronavirus. As the virus spreads throughout the country, the courts have done their part to take measures to sl...ow the spread of the virus. Some types of court hearings have even been postponed and administrators are moving to teleconferences as much as possible. If these measures are beneficial to court operations in general, they may continue into the foreseeable future. Beyond all of this, the legal profession is starting to think about the long-term impact the Coronavirus crisis might have on the laws themselves. The COVID-19 crisis has changed our society. That means the laws that govern society may change, too. The Campano Law Group believes that the Coronavirus crisis will raise legal standards for the duty of care in negligence-based personal injury cases. When a party fails to act with reasonable care and harm results, the victim may have a personal injury claim. If you or someone you know, has been hurt by poor business practices related to Coronavirus, you may have the right to compensation. Contact Attorney Angelo Campano of The Campano Law Group at (661) 945-5300, to schedule your in-office or virtual consultation today, and let us go to work for you. #Lawyer #Law #LawFirm #Lawyers #PersonalInjury #LawyerLife #Justice #Attorney #PersonalInjuryLawyer #EmploymentLawyer #Litigation #CarAccident #Accident #WrongfulTermination #Discrimination #Harassment #LaborLawViolations #WorkplaceInjuries www.CampanoLaw.com

Whether it's a car accident, a slip and fall, or any other kind of mishap, someone else's carelessness or unlawful conduct can result in serious harm to you or a family member. At The Campano Law Group, we help claimants protect their right to fair compensation for all losses stemming from a personal injury lawsuit. Wondering about the different kinds of compensation ("damages" in legalese) that might be available in a personal injury case? Here's a quick overview: Medical bi...lls. Almost every personal injury claim will involve compensation for the cost of medical treatment stemming from the accident that means care you've already received from almost any type of provider, plus the anticipated costs of care that will be necessary in the future. Lost income. If the accident, the resulting injuries, and/or your medical appointments cause you to lose any measure of income (or force you to use vacation time or sick days), you'll be able to make a claim for lost income, as long as you can document the loss. You're also entitled to compensation for any negative impact on your ability to earn a living going forward (sometimes known as "loss of earning capacity). Property loss. Whether it's your car, your phone, your clothing, or something else of value, if any property was damaged or destroyed as a result of the accident, you could be entitled to the costs of having the item(s) fixed or replaced. Pain and suffering. When an accident and any resulting injuries cause pain and discomfort (as is almost always the case), these and other negative physical effects are compensable as "pain and suffering. Emotional distress. Sometimes lumped in with the "pain and suffering" component of a damages award, "emotional distress" is typically linked to more serious accidents that result in the claimant's experiencing heightened anxiety, chronic sleeplessness, and even PTSD-like symptoms. Loss of enjoyment. When an accident and resulting injuries keep the claimant from participating in the kinds of activities, hobbies, and pursuits that he or she typically engaged in pre-accident, compensation for "loss of enjoyment" may be a facet of any damages award. Attorney Angelo Campano of The Campano Law Group, has extensive experience in dealing with insurance companies, and helping his clients receive the most compensation for their claim. Don’t leave your case to chance, trust the expertise of Attorney Angelo Campano, to help insure you receive the settlement you deserve. The Campano Law Group would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

Campano Law Group, APC 23.11.2020

Christmas is probably the most anticipated holiday of the year. Even though this Christmas will look vastly different than others past, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Christmas still means trees, shopping and opening presents. It is also a time when many injuries occur because of carelessness and heavy drinking in some instances. IF YOU WANT TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURIES DURING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON, HERE ARE SOME SAFETY TIPS TO FOLLOW: 1.) Driving Hazards and Tips: The holid...ays are often the most hazardous times for driving. Although the Christmas season is less hazardous for drivers and pedestrians than New Year's, Thanksgiving, or the July 4th weekend, drunk driving detentions still increase by about 33% on Christmas Eve according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. 2.) Inspect Your Home: Inspect your home for hazards before guests come over. This includes looking for and removing broken lights or decorations with sharp edges. 3.) Putting Up Decorations: Many more injuries occur from falls during the Christmas season than from fires, especially when hanging decorations in the home or outside. 4.) Care in Opening Presents: Believe it or not, opening a Christmas present can be hazardous to your health. The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that 6000 people per year suffer lacerations and other injuries when opening a wrapped or boxed gift. You can avoid this by not using scissors or knives to open a present. 5.) Get Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors: Although not required, be sure you have a functioning smoke detector on every level of your home. 6.) Fireplace and Candles: If you have a fireplace, be sure there’s a wire curtain or other device to prevent embers from leaping out. 7.) Avoid Christmas Fires and Related Injuries: Fires involving Christmas trees are rare, but when they do occur, they can be deadly. Finally, use common sense in preparing for the holidays and follow these and other suggestions to keep yourself and others injury-free. Have a safe and Happy Holiday season from everyone at The Campano Law Group! www.CampanoLaw.com

Understanding the Difference Between Personal Injury & Bodily Injury You often hear these two terms when a person gets hurt. While some people tend to use personal injury and bodily injury interchangeably, these two terms have entirely different meanings. Here’s what you need to know about the legal definitions and implications of personal and bodily injuries. What is Personal Injury?... Personal injury is an element of civil law. A personal injury claim compensates victims of accidents or social wrongs, like defamation of character. The plaintiff in a personal injury lawsuit is the person who is injured. What is Bodily Injury? Bodily injury differs from personal injury because it deals with a particular injury to the body of a person that is caused by someone else. The term refers to specific injuries sustained. Although this term is more commonly used for injuries in criminal cases, there are also implications of bodily injury when it comes to insurance. If you find yourself in a situation where you’ve been injured, it’s important to retain a qualified personal injury attorney to help you navigate the complex process of recovering damages. Insurance companies are well versed in different tactics to ensure they pay the lowest amount possible. A personal injury lawyer can use their expertise to get you a settlement that is commensurate with the injuries you are suffering from. Don’t jeopardize your entitlement to just a resolution, schedule your FREE in-office or virtual consultation with Attorney Angelo Campano of The Campano Law Group by calling (661) 945-5300, and let Attorney Campano help you every step of the way. www.CampanoLaw.com

What To Do After An Auto Accident You've called 911, and you're waiting for police and emergency crews to arrive. Even if no one is hurt, police should be called to document the accident. Exchange information with everyone who's at the scene. If it's a car accident, talk to the other driver involved and get the following information: name, address, and phone number; the make, model, and year of the car; driver's insurance information; car registration; and driver's license nu...mber. Also talk to witnesses, including any passengers, and document their names, addresses, and phone numbers. Pay attention to, and record, the details. Note the time, weather conditions, road conditions, landmarks, and anything else you feel may be important. Have a camera phone or a camera handy? Snap photos of the accident scene, including damage, the property, roads, landmarks, and anything else that could be important. Don't apologize or cast any blame. It may be difficult to do when you or someone else is hurt, but words can be twisted. Even a simple "I'm sorry," or, "What were you thinking?" may be used against you. Every personal injury case is unique, which is why it’s crucial to consult with an expert to figure out the best approach to filing your claim. If you've been fired from your job, how do you know if the termination was legal or illegal (called "wrongful termination")? Most employment is "at will," which means an employee may be fired at any time and for any reason or for no reason at all (as long as the reason is not illegal). But there are some important exceptions to the at-will ruleand legal remediesthat may help you keep your job or sue your former employer for wrongful termination. Written Promises - If you ha...ve a written contract or other statement that promises you job security, you have a strong argument that you are not an at-will employee. Implied Promises - The existence of an implied employment contractan agreement based on things your employer said and didis another exception to the at-will rule. Violations of Public Policy - It is illegal to violate public policy when firing a workerthat is, to fire for reasons that society recognizes as illegitimate grounds for termination. Discrimination - Employers may not fire even at-will employees for illegal reasons, and discrimination is illegal. Retaliation - Employers are forbidden from retaliating against employees who have engaged in certain legally protected activities. Fraud - In extreme cases, an employer's actions when firing a worker are so devious and wrong that they rise to the level of fraud. Defamation - A lawsuit for defamation is meant to protect a person's reputation and good standing in the community. Whistle-Blowing Violations - Whistle-blowing laws protect employees who report activities that are unlawful or harm the public interest. Contact Attorney Angelo Campano if you feel as though you may have been wrongfully terminated.
