With all the challenges and complexities of a mass vaccination roll-out, essential workers are being left-behind as they continue to still experience some of the highest infection and death rates in Los Angeles County. Learn how CCF is working with community groups across the County to ensure essential workers and vulnerable populations have fair and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccinations. 12 months of this unprecedented pandemic has caused hunger to permeate throughout Los Angeles County. 25% of Angelenos now report experiencing food insecurity some for the very first time. With the increase in food insecurity due to record unemployment and COVID-19 related illness, organizations on the frontline stepped-up to address the food crisis. CCF discusses these challenges with Stephen Gutwillig, Executive Director of the Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los An...geles (SEE-LA). @SEELAOrg https://www.calfund.org/food-insecurity-qa/

A highlight of 2020 was the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously voting to dismantle the nation’s largest and most complicated youth probation department to form the Department of Youth Development. The new department will focus on alternatives to incarceration that disproportionately harm Black, Indigenous and young people of color. CCF is proud to be a part of the engagement that went into reimagining youth justice in Los Angeles and around the nation. As we near the year end, a time when we reflect on all that was experienced, endured and achieved, we instead find ourselves deeply concerned about the ongoing effects of COVID-19. Nine months of this unprecedented pandemic has caused many of our neighbors to experience food insecurity some for the very first time. Please consider a contribution to CCF’s LA County’s COVID-19 Relief Fund to address the needs of hunger and food insecurity in Los Angeles. https://www.calfund.org/covid-19/
