Lake Siskiyou Hogs making Mondays not suck 3-30-2021 Scott Caldwell Fishing over the past 10 days has been pretty darn good. The weather has been great for the most part, with exception of the wind at times. ... Yesterday, at Lake Siskiyou despite the windy conditions was fantastic. This was Hos an John's first time fishing Lake Siskiyou and they were spoiled with a 25 fish day, and to top it off, Hos landed a 27 inch beast. Trolling the top 25 feet at speeds between 2 and 4 mph with Optimizers, Bayratlures, and Trinidad tackle dodgers with popped eye spoon trailers were the hot baits. The scent of choice was Pro-Cure bloody garlic Tuna and garlic plus. The Klamath river also continues to fish well, with steady action while back trolling maglips or bait. Fish in the 18 to 24 inch class have been the norm. As we head into spring and summer your northern California fishing options really begin to open up. I will be fishing the Klamath, Lake Siskyou, McCloud Reservoir, Shasta Lake and few others for Bass, Crappie, Kokanee, Steelhead and Trout. Yesterday, was a great start to Fall/Winter Steely/Trout season on the Klamath river. My client George caught an released 20 fish using a variety of methods; on... the swing (double beaded stone), under the indicator (rubbed legged stone and copper copper jon) and backtrolling the jetdiver garden hackle combo. I have dates available in November and December for these hard fighting fish. Finish out 2020 with a relaxing day on river. Check out the short VIDEO from 2019. Tasty day on Shasta Lake. Wade took home a few fat dinner bows as well as couple nice bass. All these hard fighting fishing were caught while trolling shad imitation plugs lathered in herring oil, at 95 feet. Speed was definently a major factor as most of the fish were caught at 2.3 mph. Fantastic day on water, Bass Salmon and Trout are on the menu tonight, trolling kokanee pattern plugs and spoons lathered in herring oil at 2.4 to 3.4 mph between 80 and 110 feet was the ticket - Caldwellfishing.com
