Porsche has given us new insight into the future of their cars. Top Speed has the details here, but we'll summarize: 1) All Porsches save the 911 will be EV only after 2025. 2) The 994(?) 911s will be internal combustion or hybrid. 3) Porsche is planning for 994s to run on "synthetic fuel" that they will sell... for $37/gal. Hey, it isn't April 1st today...is it???
Had a rough round 3 of the Wild West Zones PCA simracing series. Heat 1, I started in last place but finished in 7th, so I was happy with that, but heat 2 was a nightmare. I was hit from behind and spun off on lap 5, and then ended up in the wall on lap 6, destroying the car, trying to avoid a collision. It was still a lot of fun though. Here are a few more photos from Saturday's Mike Forest Memorial Tour.....
We had a great drive on the Mike Forest Memorial Tour on Lake Hughes Road and Pine Canyon. We made a stop on the original Grape Vine highway (the white concrete visible under some of the cars). After the tour ended some of us retired to the Rock Inn for lunch. The roads were great as were the members! Great job Sam Thurman!
Jimmy Mitchell took a video of some of the action near the finish line at Monday's GPX Drivers Education event.
It's been a long time coming, but I am happy to announce that the Cal-Inland Region's Webstore is finally up and running. I've been wanting to get our club logo on some gear officially for a while, and now it's available. (And just in time for the Holiday Season....) We have many different styles and colours available, with something for everyone. Happy Shopping!... Alex Helyer - President https://californiainland.pcawebstore.org/
We went on a drive with our Porsche Club last Saturday. Weather was great for top-down motoring! After lunch three of us drove home together. I peeled off at Oak Creek Road to head to Mojave. Fun day! David Witteried
According to Auto News, France is looking at doubling the emissions tax on high performance cars, including Porsches. Soon it could cost as much as $59,000 in taxes to buy a Porsche across the "pond".
What a fun commercial - and for many, so accurate. Hopefully those waiting for their "20 years" will have an exciting Porsche to purchase when it's their time.
We had to cancel our tech session due to COVID restrictions, so John Quick gave me a private lesson on changing brake pads. I got the most out of the old brake pads that I could. The ware sensors were still good, but you can see how close I came to the sensor holes. Thanks John! Hopefully the Club can start having gatherings again soon.
Enjoying the views at the new Santa Clarita Porsche dealership! #porschesantaclarita
Here is a video from a Riverside Region Autocross I went to a few weeks ago. I show how you can analyze different lines through a course and what "could" happen if you could get all of the best elements together in one lap. It was a great weekend and a lot of fun!
We've been saying them all wrong! Thankfully this angry German man is here to teach us a lesson..
California Central Coast Region put on another fun Autocross at Santa Maria Airport. It was a cool day with a little fog in the morning hours. Here's a few shots of one of the run groups.
