The loss of Officer Tara O’Sullivan is devastating, grievous, and a reminder that police work invokes heartbreak. She was a dedicated, young officer who had only been with the department for a year. It is with great sadness that we share the news of the loss of Sacramento Sheriff Deputy Mark Stasyuk. On September 17, 2018, at approximately 1:44PM, a member of the Rancho Cordova Police Department, Deputy Mark Stasyuk, 27, gave his life in sacrifice for the safety of the community in which he served. The CAHP Credit Union has established a memorial fund in honor of fallen Deputy Mark Stasyuk. One hundred percent of all donations received will go directly to Deputy Stasyu...k’s wife. The CAHP Credit Union is covering all processing fees and administrative responsibilities. Deputy Stasyuk was a four-and-a-half-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department and was assigned to the Rancho Cordova Police Department as a patrol officer. Sadly, he leaves behind a wife, mother, father, and sister. He was preceded in death by his older brother. The CAHP Credit Union is deeply grieved by the tragic loss of Deputy Stasyuk. He selflessly gave his life to protect our community. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, peers and the community he gave his life to protect.
