Had a great visit with two classes participating in the SJCOE Artist in School program we have funded in several area schools. So nice to see the kids engaged and learning about art history and exploring their own creativity.

Christian Tamburr was the first Blackwing Music Ambassador and collaboration partner of The Blackwing Foundation back in 2012 when he organized a 19 city Ignite the Art's Tour the foundation sponsored. This included workshops and benefit performances at high school music programs and reached over 2000 students over a 3 week period. Great to see Mark O'Connor and Maggie O'Connor perform with local area O’Connor Method students and the Stockton Symphony at this year’s sold out annual Holiday Pops show. Mark, Maggie and the band were featured guests bringing their Appalachian Xmas to add some bluegrass flavor to a great traditional show.

Excited to be lead sponsor of our hometown Stockton Symphony’s annual Holiday Pops show featuring special guests the Mark O’Connor Band. This Sunday Dec 15. Expecting an exciting and diverse show. Part of the show will feature Mark performing with local students who have been studying the O’Connor Method for string playing. Another will pair the band with the Stockton Chorale and youth Chorale as well as with the Symphony as well. It was great having the chance to catch up with Little Kids Rock Founder Dave David Wish and this group of early foundational partners / board members, teachers, supporters in San Francisco Thursday night and hear sic wonderful stories of LKR’s earliest days. A special group of people indeed.
