Berkeley Unified School District Nutrition Services is continuing to serve FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH for youth 18 and under. Meal bundles also include fresh fruit and milk. No student ID or ID number is required. "Grab and Go" food is available for pick up only. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing. BUSD Grab and Go Meal Program 2020-2021 Berkeley Unified School District will continue to provide Grab and Go Meals to BUSD enrolled students. Name and/or student ID# required at time of pick up. Meal Pick up Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m.... Meal bundles will include breakfast and lunch, fresh fruit, milks, entrees and sides. You may pick up at any of the following school sites regardless of which school site your child is enrolled. Children on the program are Free. Paid students will be charged for lunch, breakfast is free: $4.00 elementary, $4.50 middle school, $5.00 high school. Meals may be purchased through EZSchoolPay.com. SUMMER MEALS: We will continue to provide meals over the summer to youth ages 18 and under. Berkeley Food Network and Bay City Produce will continue to donate produce boxes and groceries which will be available on specific days of the month.... Please note: people over the age of 13 must wear a face covering when picking up the food.

Do I need to apply for P-EBT benefits? Families with children who receive CalFresh, CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, or Foster Care benefits do NOT need to apply for P-EBT benefits. Families will receive their P-EBT card in the mail between about May 12-22. *Families with children who are eligible for free or reduced-priced school meals and who did not receive their P-EBT card in the mail must apply before June 30, 2020. Spring Break Meals: BUSD will be providing 5 days worth of food this Friday, March 27. This includes a meal for Friday and then 4 more sets of meals that cover breakfast and lunch during Spring Break. Lunches will be frozen. Nutrition Services will be open again on Monday, April 6, serving sets of meals on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. Your child does not have to be enrolled in a food program, attend a BUSD school or even reside in Berkeley. You can also go to sites of meal distributions in other Alameda County communities: https://www.acoe.org/meals The Berkeley Food Network (BFN) - berkeleyfoodnetwork.org - will be distributing bags of groceries from the BUSD food distribution sites on Friday, March 27 for BUSD families and staff. BFN will be partnering with BUSD twice a month for food bag distribution on the 2nd and 4th Fridays. Berkeley Technology Academy (BTA) continues to operate a food pantry with the Berkeley Food Network on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 2:30 - 4:00 pm at 2701 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Community members can pick up fresh produce, protein and eggs, frozen prepared foods, and packaged goods there.
