Double your donation! We have an amazing opportunity from an anonymous non profit that is offering us a $5,000 matching grant! We are almost there and if you donate today to help us reach $5,000 towards our goal they will match it and help us reach $10,000 so we can start feeding our community again. Help us continue to meet the needs of our community! For the past three months we have been using our reserve funds to continue to provide food throughout the shelter-in-place and without access to our regular kitchen. In that time we have delivered over 3,500 meals to direct non-profit service organizations that are continuing to provide essential services. Without additional support, this week will be our last week we are able to provide meals until we are able to resume ...our regular volunteer events. Help us reach our goal so we can continue to feed our community in need and support these essential service organizations. We thank you all for your ongoing support! Thanks to everyone who has already donated to keep us going! But we still need more in order to continue to support local service organizations feeding those in need especially during this time. We NEED YOUR SUPPORT to keep this up! Every $1 helps as we are 100% volunteer run and every $ is being spent support local businesses and non-profit service organizations who are on the front lines helping people with food and housing insecurity in our community. We are currently providing weekly meals to Larkin Street Youth Services, Homeless Youth Alliance, Dolores Street Community Services, St James Infirmary, Civic Center Hotel navigation center, Tenderloin Housing Clinic , and Martin de Porres House of Hospitality. https://burritoprojectsf.org/#donate

It's been another month and we are continuing to serve. In three months since shelter in place began and we paused our regular events, we have delivered over 2,700 meals to service organizations around the city to feed our community. Through generous partnerships with local restaurants and chefs, we have been able to support local businesses and continue to spread love through warm, nutritious meals. We have grown our reach, delivering over 500 meals per week more than we d...elivered before the pandemic and in the past month began working with two additional non-profits: Dolores Street Community Services - Delivering meals two times per week to families housed at Horace Mann School through their Stay Over Program. Tenderloin Housing Clinic - Serving meals at four of their housing facilities reaching 160 people per week. Thanks to your support, our reserve funds have sustained our work for the past three months but they won't for much longer. Our costs have gone up as we are no longer able to produce the meals ourselves with the help of all of you amazing volunteers. Our spending on a meal has increased by nearly five times, from under $1 a burrito to about $5. In order to continue to serve, we need ongoing support from our volunteer community. For as little as $5, you can provide a meal to someone living with food and housing insecurity in San Francisco. If everyone receiving this letter was able to donate $10, we can continue to serve meals for another 5 months. We miss seeing your smiling faces and working together at the kitchen at Martin's. We know you are eager to help and volunteer with us again. Until then, we appreciate your patience and the donations and support from all of you. https://burritoprojectsf.org/#donate ---- NEVER let them convince you that broken glass or property is violence. Updates on our work: Although our regular volunteer events are on hold, we are still finding creative ways to continue to feed the community living with food and housing insecurity. Working with local restaurants, chefs, and non-profits, we have built partnerships to produce food at a discounted cost that we can deliver to service organizations throughout the city. - St James Infirmary - For the past two months, we have been delivering burritos 1-2 times per week... - Larkin Street Youth Services - We've been delivering to Larkin for over a year, but we are continuing to provide lunch at two of their housing locations on a weekly basis - Homeless Youth Alliance - Continuing to serve HYA, we have been delivering dinners 1-2 times per week for the last two months - Martin de Porres House of Hospitality - Our host and fiscal sponsor, they are operating with a small and mighty crew and no volunteers. We are serving one meal per week of 200-250 burritos to give their guests a special treat, and give their crew a day off from cooking - Civic Center Hotel Navigation Center - One of our regular delivery locations, we are continuing to provide 1-2 meals per week - Dolores Street Community Services - We have started to serve two meals a week to families housed at Horace Mann school - Asian Prisoner Support Committee - APSC - We are working on a partnership to provide meals to support the re-entry community We are really fortunate to have some reserve funds to continue to operate and pay for food from local restaurants and chefs to feed our community. We can still use your financial support to ensure we can keep this up as our costs to provide food have increased. Donate today! Thank you to everyone in our community who has supported us and enabled us to be resilient in this difficult time. A huge thank you and virtual hugs to our volunteer delivery crew: Eliza, Anthony, Mark, Nic, Paavan, and Volker! Special thanks to our partners Street Taco, El Pípila - Antojitos Mexicanos, Chef Trevor May, La Cocina, and La Palma Mexicatessen.
