FIRE RELIEF FUNDRAISER TODAY, Fort Bragg Certified Farmers Market, 3-5pm. 100% of Nye Ranch sales donated to victims. ~ 95% of my hometown of Paradise, Califo...rnia(population 27,000) and a huge portion of butte county has been destroyed. This is UNFATHOMABLE. The fire swept through the foothills and town in an instant, leaving my family and friends evacuating with little more than the clothes on their back. Friends and family fled town only to get trapped in gridlock traffic as the fire raged on all sides and propane tanks exploded all around. Friends were forced to abandon their vehicles and run on foot. ~ The narrow and harrowing accounts of escape I’ve heard from friends and family is beyond terrifying. Every single home of friends and friends family I’ve spent time in perished in an instant. The speed and intensity of this fire are incomprehensible making it the most destructive and deadly fire in California history and still growing. 52,000 are evacuated and over 7,600 homes lost. 48 lives thus far have been lost with most discovered everyday. ~ The most needed supply currently is monetary relief. Many are uninsured, underinsured, or simply have nothing.
