Progress can still be made, even in a pandemic. Exciting to see forward thinking by pasing this law now to implement later (and enough time to start preparing for the transition). https://www.cnn.com//wo/plastic-ban-canada-trnd/index.html
TerraCycle is a group that works with national brands to create specific collection programs for hard to recycle products through individual mail-in programs. This narrow approach is most certainly not a scalable or sustainable solution (mailing!!), however, taking advantage of available brand-sponsored programs can help send companies a strong signal on how much the public wants the products they buy to be recyclable, durable or truly compostable. Here is a list of the FRE...E programs that are offered--meaning consumers should NOT be paying to mail the collected materials back. https://www.terracycle.com/en-US/brigades Please email [email protected] about your experience if you do take part in the free take back program. And spread the word, invite friends and neighbors to join you and share a box, start one at work, etc..!!
