In response to the national reckoning with the realities of systemic racism, Ms. Dyson has used her role as BUSD librarian to actively educate the community by providing resources to educators, parents, and students. She regularly shares an array of books, texts, and resources to help teach and learn about the difficult subjects of racism and prejudice. #BlackHistoryMonth

On the twelfth day of Distance Learning, my kiddo gave to me twelve drinks-a-drinking, eleven pesky parents, ten students sleeping, nine attendance forms, eight brushes buzzing, seven students scheming, six lonely teachers, five million screens! Four dirty words, three friendly pets, two keyboard shoves, and an eyeroll as big as a tree. CHEER(s), y'all! We made it through our first full semester of distance learning. If that has not earned parents and teachers a drink, I'm n...ot sure what has. BAEF is looking forward to seeing you tonight. The Zoom link has gone out to those who ordered cocktails or bought tickets, but it's not too late! Tickets still available at the link below. On the tenth day of Distance Learning, my kiddo gave to me ten students sleeping, nine attendance forms, eight brushes buzzing, seven students scheming, six lonely teachers, five million screens! Four dirty words, three friendly pets, two keyboard shoves, and an eyeroll as big as a tree. At least remote school still has recess. It should probably implement naptime too. Join BAEF for a drink and a laugh on 12/18 at 8pm at Holiday Cheer(s), with Fancy Free Liquor and comedian Vargus Mason.

On the ninth day of Distance Learning, my kiddo gave to me nine attendance forms, eight brushes buzzing, seven students scheming, six lonely teachers, five million screens! Four dirty words, three friendly pets, two keyboard shoves, and an eyeroll as big as a tree. We can hear it echoing across the city: don't forget your attendance form!!!! Come laugh it off at Holiday Cheer(s), this Friday at 8pm.

On the eighth day of Distance Learning, my kiddo gave to me eight brushes buzzing, seven students scheming, six lonely teachers, five million screens! Four dirty words, three friendly pets, two keyboard shoves, and an eyeroll as big as a tree. https://www.tiktok.com/@juanesleta/video/6804855892656377093 Juan's teeth were brushed, and he was in remote school. We call that a "pandemic parenting win." Cheer(s)! You can keep your video off when we laugh about it all at Holiday Cheer(s) on 12/18 at 8pm with BAEF & comedian Vargus Mason. Cocktail kit sales are closed but $10 tickets are still available :)
