Some people don’t do well in life because they major in minor things. This talk was inspired by Jim Rohn’s unique philosophy about work and life. Just like there are 4 seasons in nature, there are 4 lessons that are crucial to your life. By becoming aware of them, learning them, and applying them in your existence, there is no doubt that you will craft a very fulfilling life.... We are all recovering from something. The content of this talk has been adapted for the recovery process and it will cover the following: Major Lesson #1 - Learn how to handle the winters Not all winters are the same psychological, emotional, physical, spiritual, etc Major Lesson #2 - Learn how to take advantage of the spring After every dark night, there is a bright day Build a foundation for your sobriety Major Lesson #3 - Learn how to protect your crop in the summer Any time you want to quit, remember why you started Protect your recovery from internal and external intruders Major Lesson #4 Learn how to reap in the fall without complaint Take full responsibility for your crop Difference between fault and blame What lessons have you learned? Successes and failures Protect yourself for the winters of life It is Naive and irresponsible to think they aren’t coming. You can’t change the seasons, but you can change yourself. These lessons will help in the recovery process, maintaining, sobriety, and in all other areas of life. #mentalhealth #recovery #sobriety #inspiration #motivation #lifelessons #personaldevelopment

Dear Addict, This is a letter to you Screaming at god and friends that turn blue You are not invisible, at least not to me The fringes of this world that no one can see... Muting your dreams; while cranking agony to eleven The path to hell beginning at the gates of heaven.... Please visit the link below to read the entire poem. It is a powerful piece of literature that captures the essence of addiction and recovery unlike anything that you have read before.

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. Here’s to the possibilility that all human beings can change and evolve from their current labels and circumstances. Here’s to the possibility of human transformation

Identify who you are making that change for? Self? Others? own it Explore your mindset in that area how did you come to that mindset? How are you shaping it? What are you feeding it? Examine your current habits in that area Go slow to go fast Make Minimal Viable changes to create momentum aka The big Mo Immediately get accountable to someone get a partner Design your optimal environment for success Clear the clutter People, places, things One goal a at time Don’t move on or go to something else till you accomplish this goal What area in your life will you transform? The original content of this talk has been slightly adapted through the use of personal experiences and stories, however all of the credit for this talk goes to Jim Rohn, who has inspired millions of people just like Parham all around the world to transform through the power of personal development. Emotions are the most powerful forces inside us. Under the power of emotions, human beings can perform the most heroic (as well as barbaric) acts. Which emotions cause people to ...act? There are four basic ones; each, or a combination of several, can trigger the most incredible activity. The day that you allow these emotions to fuel your desire is the day you'll turn your life around. 1) DISGUST - One does not usually equate the word "disgust" with positive action. And yet properly channeled, disgust can change a person's life. The person who feels disgusted has reached a point of no return. He or she is ready to throw down the gauntlet at life and say, "I've had it!" 2) DESIRE - How does one gain desire? I don't think I can answer this directly because there are many ways. But I do know two things about desire: a. It comes from the inside not the outside. b. It can be triggered by outside forces. Almost anything can trigger desire. It's a matter of timing as much as preparation. It might be a song that tugs at the heart. It might be a memorable sermon. It might be a movie, a conversation with a friend, a confrontation with the enemy, or a bitter experience. Even a book or an article such as this one can trigger the inner mechanism that will make some people say, "I want it now!" 3) DECISION - Most of us need to be pushed to the wall to make decisions. And once we reach this point, we have to deal with the conflicting emotions that come with making them. We have reached a fork in the road. Now this fork can be a two-prong, three-prong, or even a four-prong fork. No wonder that decision-making can create knots in stomachs, keep us awake in the middle of the night, or make us break out in a cold sweat. 4) RESOLVE - Resolve says, "I will." These two words are among the most potent in the English language. I WILL. Benjamin Disraeli, the great British statesman, once said, "Nothing can resist a human will that will stake even its existence on the extent of its purpose." In other words, when someone resolves to "do or die," nothing can stop him There is a vital lesson in this. Ask yourself, "How long am I going to work to make my dreams come true?" I suggest you answer, "As long as it takes." That's what these four emotions are all about.

Have you ever seen an episode of CSI? The show always starts off with a murder that has occurred. Through the process of the show the investigators gather evidence, DNA, fingerprints, create a timeline, identify suspects, establish motives, and figure out who committed the crime. If we created a show on the topic of success and how someone becomes successful, we would quickly realize that success also leaves clues. This talk was inspired by teachings from Rob Bell, Jim Rohn,... and Anthony Robbins. It provides 10 clues that successful individuals provide us, that create a blueprint for success. The 10 clues covered in the talk are the following: 1) Finding purpose: Different outlook on the word religion to re-bind or re-connect 2) Self-Confidence: Not neglecting the small daily disciplines 3) Enthusiasm: You can’t just rely on the rain to water your garden 4) Expertise Develop your skills as an expert 5) Preparation: Life seemingly does not waste success on the unprepared 6) Sense of responsibility: I am the person responsible. 7) Image: How to present yourself to self and others (talk, walk, act, etc) 8) Character: Becoming a person of high value 9) Self-Discipline: Doing what you know you need to do, even when you don’t want to do it 10) Extraordinary: The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is doing a little bit extra Now that you have been provided the clues for to success, what are you going to do about it?

Everything else these days is just good and better. #sobriety #recovery #perspective #gratitude
