**CAMP UPDATE** Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Benfica soccer camps originally scheduled for this summer will be postponed until next year. Although some youth activities are resuming in San Diego, we are unable to fly out the Benfica coaches who will be teaching the camps. The safety of our participants, coaches and staff is of utmost importance to us and we feel it is in the best interest of everyone involved to postpone the camps. We encourage you to pre-reg...ister for the 2021 Benfica soccer camps as spaces are filling up quickly. We apologize for any inconvenience the postponement of the camps has caused but look forward to welcoming you to the camps in 2021!

It has been brought to my attention that comments were made online by a person who was perceived to be affiliated with our local youth soccer program. I would like to make clear that she is not, nor was she ever, a part of, or employed by our organization. Therefore, we cannot terminate her, since a relationship does not exist. However we have asked her to cease and desist in promoting or making any appearance of association with our program. While my initial statement was i...nsensitive, I now clearly understand her post and subsequent comments were hurtful. As a Portuguese-speaker who often speaks Portuguese with my family and friends, I should have recognized the hurt, and for that I am sorry. We will not tolerate racism and discrimination of any form by our staff, coaches, volunteers or players. This is our commitment to our soccer community. We are a new, locally-run program in San Diego, aimed at enriching soccer education for all children, while promoting respect, diversity, and inclusion.
