If you are tired and need a nap you should stop and take one. Little Man is really good at it. He plays hard and will crash whenever or wherever he can. Too cute

Had a visitor this week. I call it a Nope Rope even though it’s a good snake. I don’t have time to ask if they are going to kill me so they have to move along. Before we could catch and relocate it it went into the school next door so we may see it again.

The one horse who runs this rescue is Baby. She is 20 yrs young and the smallest horse here. Baby and her Momma came here about 14 yrs ago. Sadly Momma has since passed from colic. She only has to pin her ears and swing her butt around and the boys back off but if they don’t get the hint she will kick them. She has mistaken me for them and has kicked me numerous times. Back in May she suffered an episode similar to a stroke/seizure. Dr Manring gave IV meds for inflammation. B...aby had neurological deficits and issues with walking, knowing her surroundings and simple everyday things. Started trotting again in June. Unfortunately in July she had another episode. We ran blood work and discovered she is IR (insulin resistant) and has Cushings (pituitary tumor). IR is similar to Type 2 diabetes in humans. Both conditions can be managed with meds but not curable. We will do everything we can to get some weight off her and get a med routine going so she can continue to keep the boys in line See more

Say hi to Lickity. He is a silver dapple mini about 22 yrs old. Always been skittish but an easy keeper. We rescued him from a rescue who got him from auction about 14 yrs ago. Sometimes these babies are passed through a lot of different homes until they finally settle in. This year has been rough and in May Lickity came in at dinner time with a bad sinus infection and a small colic episode. Dr Bear came out and helped him and said he should be ok. 2 days later Lickity had a ...blockage so Dr Manring came and tubed him with oil and pain meds. He finally pooped after 4 days. Non horse people won’t understand how exciting that is . This past Monday Lickity had another episode so Dr Oman came out and tubed him. Unfortunately you get to a point where tubing doesn’t work so we continue to pray that Lickity can be healthy and happy. A big hug goes to ECLAP vets who work hard to accommodate our needs. See more
