CADENCE The thing I LOVE the most about this video from yesterday is that it captured my breath rhythm changing dramatically - when I’m on my belly in Crocodile. It slows about four paces of slower... and my whole day had a mellowed vibe. How’s your spirit?

With this New Moon, I give myself a day to retreat, to curl up, to cut out what causes me angst. I use this moment to restore, replenish, and partake in the incredibly productive act of rest. Without guilt, shame, or reluctance, I remind myself that I am not so important that I can’t pause, and I am too valuable to run myself ragged. Affirmations for your sign on www.ChaniNicholas.com and weekly newsletter to your inbox! Happy New Moon

Depression tips Shower. Not a bath, a shower. Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run ove...r you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta. Moisturize everything. Use whatever lotion you like. Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis. Put on clean, comfortable clothes. Put on your favorite underwear. Cute black lacy panties? Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on. Drink cold water. Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost. I always use lemon. Clean something. Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink. Blast music. Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both. Make food. Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something. Make something. Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create. Go outside. Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin. Call someone. Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps. Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favourite movie, a new game coming out, anything. May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive. **Your absolute best won’t ever be good enough for the wrong people. At your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on. In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!! **copied and pasted, feel free to do the same** See more

The yoga world is aglow with celebrations of this book! One point is to stop ending classes with Namastè as an act of respect, as a movement within the yoga community to cast awareness upon the broader implications of colonization.

Succor When we’re alone, all the fears and worries and anxieties come up, because we can’t distract ourselves, said Sister Elizabeth Wagner, a canonical hermit who lives in her own cell on the grounds of a communal hermitage in Central Maine. The great way to be with ourselves, to embrace who we are, warts, bumps, lumps and all, is to breathe.

: There is a Cherokee prophecy that speaks about this century. It states that the bird of humanity has a male w...ing and a female wing. The bird of humanity has been flying for centuries with primarily only its male wing and the female wing has been unable to extend. Due to this the male or yang wing has gotten overly muscularized to the point of violence, and the bird of humanity has been soaring in circles unable to fly in the right direction. The prophecy says that in the 21st century the female wing will fully extend and express itself fully in men and women. The male energy or the yang energy will relax and the bird of humanity will soar." Within women (and men) lives the feminine, yin, or omega principle. This principle has long been "cast out" or "shamed" within society, however; this is the very essence that our world is needing. It's the exhale, the silent wisdom, the intuition, the connection to our earth, humanity, love, and creator. As women, we have this essence very alive within us, however, we have learned to become more masculine to survive in this over masculinized world. It is more important than ever that we soften into our feminine again. That we learn to trust our own pace, rhythm, and ways of creating and being. It's time for us to focus less on achievement and more on connection. Through this, we will achieve more than we could push ourselves to succeed, be good enough, or make it. It's time to learn to lead, create, and manifest by following the subtle messages of your body and heart. In this way, we will heal ourselves. We will inspire our communities and empower others to soar with us! Shared from Global Sisterhood Nicole Sacred Wild Woman Medicine

You are the one I have chosen, Babaji said, to spread the message of Kriya Yoga in the West. What Yogananda brought is a fairly advanced and much more comprehensive meditation practice for people who feel they don’t want to be a dabbler anymore, Brother Chidananda said. Yogananda called his teachings the science of religion because he believed his methods were testable. Faith wasn’t part of the equation. It’s like chemistry, Brother Chidananda said. Regardless of whether you believe or not, if you follow the protocol with precision, you will get a predictable result.

Just do one of these For one breath Work up to the rest Rest Yin is more dynamic than Restorative Yoga because of the long holds requiring muscle and connective tissue activation, and it’s a good choice if you have a busy mind, difficulty confronting your mind and are very kinesthetic for whatever reason. Yin can be great during certain behavioral & emotional states that are symptoms of post-traumatic stress. The deep pressure of these poses can be very settling for some wh...o are very activated.
