Good Morning Everyone! Yesterday still feels like a blur! I am in awe! Close to 400 people showed up!!!! I was really hoping I would sleep better last night, bu...t here I am, LOL. Here are some highlights: WHAT AN AMAZING TURNOUT!!! We expected somewhere in the 200-250 range! I could not be any more proud and honored. Thank you, every single one of you! I was interviewed by Channel 4, 10, and 3 on site. Telemundo was there doing coverage in Spanish! We were also streamed on Viettv thanks to my dear friend and mentor Jaime Schrabeck. The media stuck around for the duration, covering our story and interviewed a few attendees. I found our story on both yahoo and google news! WE ARE GETTING HEARD AND WE ARE BEING NOTICED! We met Senator Bob Archuletta from San Diego and boy is he nice! He posed for a picture carrying a bullhorn box with two attendees and their signs and wished us good luck. Governor Gavin Newsom drove by around 11:15 as we were first setting up, window rolled down a few inches, driving SLOWLY and checking us out. (I hope they all looked out a window at some point to see 350-400 of us out there.) I heard there was a lot of "chatter" inside the "big house" surrounding our rally. I was told "whatever you're doing, keep doing it! They never call me. I have heard from many people who NEVER call me. They are wanting to know about your event. We have protests and rallies almost daily. Some groups in the thousands, they don't call me. I think what you are doing is great, your Industry is getting hit hard. You and I are on the same page and I would definitely work with you again." With a group that large, we only had to speak with 5 people not meeting our guidelines. Technically 4, because the 5th one wasn't a Beauty Professional and was only interested in our group for her own platform, so she kindly went outside the grounds and stayed there for the duration. The President of Sola Salons flew in from Denver yesterday and I asked him to say a few words. That was a total surprise, he didn't tell anyone he was coming. The stories shared by a few of our attendees were so raw. Thank you for sharing! I am going to jump off for now, I have quite a lot to do today. I will be sharing a few more bits soon... May I leave you with this..... You can do anything that you truly believe in. With POSITIVITY, passion, purpose and the willingness to remain open, you can achieve anything your heart desires. I am one person. This started on July 24th. August 11, 1:00 p.m., we had close to 400 people at the State Capitol. It simply proves that we are all responsible for our own beliefs.
