Many thanks to TheEventHelper.com, our March activities sponsor. The #GrassValley company -- which provides insurance for events https://www.theeventhelper.com/company/about -- makes it possible for Bright Futures for Youth and NEO Youth Center to hold numerous activities this month, including baking, staining and wood-working (see a complete list at https://bffyouth.org/neo-march-activities/). Are you interested in being a sponsor and helping #nevadacounty youth thrive? Check out the details at https://bffyouth.org/neo-march-activities/ and contact us to learn more. We're very grateful to our monthly sponsors like Event Helper and owners Will and Lauren Maddux. #philanthropy #volunteer #sponsor

NEO Youth Center recently held a #Fashion #Design #Workshop, where youth learned basic design principles, illustrations, sewing techniques and color theory. Youth designed and developed their own three-piece collection outfits that will be modeled and photographed for an upcoming Art Show. (Great outfits, huh?) Two Bright Futures for Youth sewing enthusiast volunteers refurbished three of our machines and they were given to the girls in the workshop. One of the photos shows the excitement from one of the girls who received a refurbished sewing machine. Many thanks to Marty Dekay-Bemis, who also bought each girl a gift card to buy material or whatever they may need from Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames-Grass Valley. #philanthropy #nevadacounty #volunteer

Children are dealing with anxiety, depression and isolation with the pandemic. Lynn Skrukrud, Youth Outreach and Events Coordinator at Bright Futures for Youth and co-founder of NEO Youth Center, details some ways that parents can help their children during this difficult period in a column that appeared in a The Union publication recently. #nevadacounty #philanthropy #nevadacounty #youth https://bffyouth.org/the-kids-are-not-alright/

#NevadaCounty Supervisor Hardy Bullock, who represents the fifth district (eastern Nevada County), recently toured Bright Futures for Youth with Executive Director Jennifer Singer (right) and Community Outreach Coordinator Cassie Robertson. We discussed the latest challenges of children and young adults with the #Covid pandemic, and how our programs are working. We also talked about an increasing concern in the community -- youth experiencing homelessness and how our SAFE program is committed to addressing the issue. #philanthropy #volunteer
