Julie Kuebelbeck and Victoria O'Connor. Unfortunately, most of us can not provide this kind of attention to our patients, because of Covid-19 restrictions. It's needed so badly. Not only for them , but for us. We feel so helpless not being able to provide such a simple need.

I think we all agree, 2020 was a painful year. Let's go into 2021 with hope and love. Things will not be much better immediately, but we can do our best to stay positive and safe. We have all known people directly affected by Covid. Be strong and supportive of each other. We will be celebrating together again before we know it! I can't wait for a nice, big steak at our favorite restaurant! Happy New Year's Eve!

I have this great little book titled, Caregiver Therapy. "Caregiving can be a rewarding and life-affirming experience. It can also be draining and exhausting. Whether you give care to others as a professional, a volunteer, a relative, or a friend, you can sometimes forget about your own needs. Yet to effectively take care of others you must take care of yourself." I will post a quote from the book everyday.

Back in April, we were honored to be a part of the Armenian genocide remembrance ceremony at the California Armenian Home! Wonderful job Pastor Ara! We also have somebody come and sing for the group as well.

The Pandemic, and subsequent quarantine(s), have been hard on everyone. However, no one is affected harder than the front line workers, caregivers, patients and families. Bright Horizon has tried to give back to those who take such wonderful care of our patients. Our wonderful employees, Renee and Esperanza, have delivered stacks of pizzas and drinks to many Skilled Nursing Facilities around town to show our support for their selflessness. They, along with many of our other... employees, have held several BBQ's for the staff at different locations. Our volunteers have made colorful signs to cheer up the staff in our office and outside facilities. Even though the volunteers can not work outside the office at this time, they maintain a PenPal program with several patients. Our music therapy student, volunteer Olivia, is unable to play for patients in their homes at this time so she plays her flute for them over the telephone. One also requested Olivia play at her funeral, which Olivia did, 3 years after meeting her. It is so important to maintain positive relationships with each other at this time. We will be assisting with a new Alzheimer's Support Group at Paintbrush Assisted Living on the first Wednesday of every month at 6pm (March 4th). Paintbrush Assisted living is located at 4356 W. Ashlan Avenue Fresno, California 93722. Please spread the word. Participants do not have to be affiliated with Paintbrush. This group is open to the public. Our group at Country View will be starting up again after taking a break for the holidays. This support group will be held on the last Saturday of the month at 2pm (February 29th) and is open to the public as well. Country View is located at 925 N Cornelia. We keep the meetings to about 1hr.

Please join us Thursday, December 12 at 6pm for a Night of Remembrance. We will be honoring loved ones who have passed. Please come even if your loved one was not on service with us. You are welcome to bring a picture of your loved one to display. We will be meet at North Point Center 6741 N Palm
