Have you met our Tasting Room Manager, Ellen Mitchell? If you have been enjoying our recently re-opened courtyard and tasting room, you have probably seen Ellen making sure each customer is having the best experience possible! When Ellen isn't running the tasting room, you can find her hiking and exploring the trails in Los Padres, having conversations with her Maine Coon cat, Tella, or whipping up a new recipe in the kitchen with her husband. ... Lately, Ellen enjoys sipping on Brick Barn's 2018 Viognier, because "it’s the perfect interpretation of the varietal with our own unique terroir; floral notes with just the right acidity." Her tasting room secret? It’s not on the tasting list, but ask for it and the team will happily pour a splash for you! This International Women's Day we are proud to raise a glass to the many women, like Ellen, who help run Brick Barn Estate! If you see her around the property, be sure to say hello!

We know you really love the Brick Barn Cabernet Franc So, today Adrian is talking to you all about the aging process of the 2017 Fatalist Cabernet Franc! Increasingly we are finding that Cab Franc grows extremely well in our cooler-climate, right on the border of the Sta Rita Hills.... Its flavor profiles and polished tannins are also enhanced by our unique use of Russian Oak in the aging processes, rather than the more typical French or American Oak. The 2017 Fatalist is ultra-limited, as Adrian hand selects the finest two barrels from the vintage to age 38 months total. Made with extreme love and devotion, each bottle has been filled and sealed by hand with a premium all-cork closure and finished with an expressive wax dip. The bottle itself features a striking engraved design that has been painstakingly filled by artisans with metallic silver to match the elegance of the wine.
