2 years ago... We miss people!!
This morning I woke up and tackled a short list of adjustments to this portrait and signed it. I started with a black ground. As the oil dries, I am expecting... it to mellow a bit. The layers will knit themselves together and things might become translucent in a way that reveals the darkness below. Everything is an experiment right now. *Edit* "...of all he surveys" 11" x 16" Oil on custom cradled panel #hawkeartist #Oilpainting #paintingsdaily #painting #portrait #potraiture

She has been recognized for her mural work at the Edelmann Children’s Court where she received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the City of Los Angeles. She has been nominated for the Disney Excellence in Teaching Award twice. Her mixed media and photographic works have been exhibited and sold through local galleries for 20 years. Her work has continuous threads reflecting on her love of movement, her NDE and spirituality, feminism and indigenous wisdom. Twice a year she opens her gallery to the public during the downtown Brewery Artwalk in the world’s largest art colony. Sebanz States: As a dancer I learned to connect to others and play through the senses. Movement, texture, shape and shadow became the bones for my work. In the end, (If there is any) it is about holding a moment, a thought in time and allowing it space to stretch, to breathe.

He is highly engaged in utilizing raw materials, making paint, working on fine linen, all foundations acting as a vehicle for a greater understanding of painting. The artist incorporates humor as a stint and abstraction as a vessel to hold an interior landscape of a higher world. Thematically his interests lay in the interstitial. Through his writing he has come to be known for his poetic, sometimes comical titles for his artworks. Uncovering ancient Spiritual locations are recurring themes within his work. A BFA at San Diego State University he continued his studies at Otis Parsons Los Angeles and at Design Art and Architecture School in Santa Monica, studying with Laddie John Dill and George Herms and Ronn Davis. Early on in his painting studies he privately apprenticed with historical classical technique painting master Sylvana Barrett, a consultant at the Getty Museum.
