To Our Valued Patients, We hope that this message finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety and well-being. In response to new covid-19 guidelines, you may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. In addition to new protoco...ls for patients and employees, we have made some changes to our infrastructure to further promote health and safety. For now, both staff and patients will be asked screening questions and have their temperatures taken before shifts and appointments. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients, and we will do our best to eliminate waiting times for you. Infrastructure changes that have been made to promote cleanliness and safety include: Hard flooring was placed in the entire back office treatment area so that the floors can be mopped with disinfectant cleaners. We have installed a plexiglass shield in the reception area with a sanitizing station and clean one-use pens. Air being circulated through the heating and air conditioning vents is moving through an Air Scrubber Plus. This is a unit that both filters the air to .3 microns and treats it with UV light to destroy viruses and bacteria before it goes back into the office. Air ducts were cleaned before installation and fans were serviced. Each operatory and the reception area will have a hospital grade air purifier that filters to 0.1 micrometer, smaller than the corona virus. Operatories are being treated with UVC light between patients to remove contaminants from the air. Finally, we have implemented a paperless system in our office to remove dust and allergens from charts and further enhance cleanliness. We hope that you will find comfort in knowing that your dental team is working hard to keep you safe during this phase of our nation’s corona virus recovery. We also want you to know that we are looking forward to getting our more relaxed atmosphere back while maintaining OSHA standards when this crisis is over. Thank you for being our patient. This is a handy demonstration. The CDC now recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. They believe that the use of simple cloth face coverings will slow the spread of the virus and help prevent asymptomatic infected individuals from unknowingly infecting others. You must be as frustrated as we are at not being able to complete treatment plans within the anticipated time frames. The CDC, ADA and CDA have recommended that California dentists suspend all care other than essential and emergency treatment. These measures are helping to slow the spread of Covid-19 in Cal...ifornia while making critical items like masks and gloves more available to doctors and nurses on the front lines. Social distancing appears to be slowing the spread of Covid-19 in California, but we haven’t won the battle yet. Consequently, the social distancing guidelines have been extended through April 30 via presidential order. We want you to know that we care about you and your safety and we truly appreciate your patience during these next several weeks as the infection works its way through our area. During this time, we will continue to monitor the situation and we are available for emergencies. We are looking forward to serving you again when it is safe to re-open our office. To Our Valued Patients, The ADA has recommended that dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures in response to the spread of the coronavirus disease, COVID-19, across the country. Consequently, our office is closed for all care other than emergencies for the next couple of weeks. We regret that we must restrict our patient care this way.
