Another 5 start review! Great job Phillip I am married to the best boss ever.
Last night in my backyard I found a roach, not the fun kind. We immediately killed it, after calling the bug guy and inspecting my home he found no traces inside thank goodness. He did give a few tips. I will share with you all. 1. use bay leaves. these nasty bugs can not stand the smell. 2. baking soda and sugar as a barrier as they walk across it it sticks to there feet and is ingested and kills them. 3. spray them with fabric softener, apparently it closes their pores an...d they die immediately ends their lives.. Today I bought a huge container of Bay leaves and put them in the blender and it is now part of my yard. Happy Tuesday.
I want to thank my husband PhillipBreiter for making my job so easy.

6/2/2018 We struck gold when we found Phillip and Patti Breiter and their business partner Taylor. Phillip and Taylor are in the field whilst Patti runs the operation at home. I can't talk about one without talking about the others as they are a team. And, what a team they are! In our efforts to replace our gas grill (we simply wore it out) we found that the space in our grill island on our covered patio had some changes needed to fit the new one (a Turbo from BBQs Galore, th...emselves a winning team). To comply with newish state regulations we would be required to provide venting under the grill for gas to escape in the case of a leak. Enter Patti, Phillip, and Taylor in that order. First, Patti took my call and was able to have Phillip come by that afternoon. He sized up the problem and proposed that he come back the next day to execute his solution. He brought Taylor with him on Saturday and they proposed a professional design for venting slits which they began working on immediately. We agreed to have Phillip take the door home and finish it up and paint it, then bring it back the next day which by now you have figured out was Sunday. It looks like it was custom manufactured for us. And, indeed, it really was. As they were leaving my wife asked them to look at a section of our fence which needed repairing as well as two gates which needed adjusting. Here it is a week after Phillip's first visit and the newly painted and properly vented door is in place, stones have been cut to accommodate some additional installation requirements, and two sections of fence have been repaired, and both gates adjusted. All of this was done without breaking the bank, phone calls and emails were answered immediately and fully, great imagination and ingenuity was shown by the team, and we are pleased as punch. After more than fifty years in Lafayette we have finally found the perfect answer to an aging couple's handyman needs: See more
Patti, you, Phillip, and Taylor are a huge breath, nay, virtually, a hurricane of fresh air. We are impressed with your collective enthusiasm, responsiveness, professionalism, and imagination. As I told Phillip yesterday, "At last we've found a handyman." And, as you may know, before he and Taylor left yesterday Ruth had already began planning for a few other jobs and was discussing them with the lads.Thank you all! Ruth and David

It is that time of year again: Time to change the batteries in your detectors, and now is a a great time to change the direction of your ceiling fans, to help cool your home. In the summer, ceiling fan blades should rotate in a counterclockwise or "forward" direction to create cool downward airflow. In the winter, fan blades should rotate in a clockwise or "reverse" direction to redistribute warm air, which naturally rises to the top of the ceiling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLHRHdy6Nuc

I know it is not spring, it ia rainy day and a great time to get some cleaning done. Try this Breiter handyman tip on your shower doors. Treat doors with water ...repellent product Keeping shower doors clean and streak free is a challengeunless you know the pros' secrets. Start by cleaning any mold, mildew or streaks off the glass with a glass cleaner. Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get into the cracks in textured glass. Scrape off tough buildup with a razor blade. Dry the doors with a cloth. Treat the doors with Rain-X. These glass treatments form an invisible film on the glass to increase water repellency, causing water and soap to bead up and run off the glass. (Squeegee off the water after bathing to keep soap scum from building up again.) Spray or wipe on the glass treatment, then wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. Overspray won't harm surrounding surfaces. The products repel water for six months.
I know it is been a long time since I posted a tip here you go.

Breiter Handy Man Cold Weather Tip of the Day Roll up the hoses While newer homes today have "Frost-Free" hose spouts installed, it is still possible to burst water pipes by leaving your hoses attached and exposed to freezing temperature. Whether your home is newer or older, the best practice is to disconnect the hose from the house spouts before freezing temperatures set in. Frozen or burst pipes can be a devastating event to deal with so make sure this easy step to your homes fall maintenance is completed.
We at Breiter Handyman Service would like to wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving. May all your family and friends have safe travels. We are thankful to have all you as our friends, family and customers.
Avoid paint strippers by removing paint from old hardware using a hot water bath.
TIP of the Day!!! Mow Your Leaves, Don’t Rake Them Mowing your leaves (rather than raking them) will provide an added benefit to your lawn. Mow over DRY leaves (without a bag, and ideally with a mulching blade) to create dime-sized pieces that will remain on the ground amidst the grass. Leave them there to decompose and continue to nourish your lawn over the winter months. Your lawn will thank you come springtime!
Tip of the Day Get Rid of Ants Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it 'home,' can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains, but it works and you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!
