The picture I Thessalonians 5: 2 reminds us that the coming of the Lord will not be expected by the world, but will come as a thief in the night. In one interpretation, the thief comes to remove precious items from a house. Perhaps like the rapture, the precious Bride is taken away by the Bridegroom. However, the "day of the Lord" in scripture is usually referred to as a day of judgment. And those who are under judgment have little or no knowledge of the times and seasons or... fear of the Lord, so it will come upon them suddenly--like a thief in the night--a break in of their reality with God's requirements and judgment. That is why the scripture tells God's people to WATCH and PRAY. These last few months have refined us. Now the nation is going through a great sifting. We will all have to take a stand. Let us stand as the people of God, transcending what is happening on earth as overcomers through Jesus Christ. He is our Author and Finisher, Master, Life, Savior and God. Our complete identity is in Him. Don't forget that. We are seated in heavenly places. See more
