as someone who has been in relationships with addicts since i was 14, this ted talk really hits the nail on the head, in my opinion. such potent info here. i ca...n’t wait to see these younger generations make change. saying no more to the things that aren’t working! doing it the way we’ve been doing it isn’t getting us anywhere. our prisons are full up and not rehabilitating our brothers and sisters. they are keeping them enslaved in isolation. addicts don’t chose addiction. i know this. it’s heart wrenching to watch the shame and guilt that’s laid on them. cutting them off from society. labeling them as society throw always. remember we all have addictions but we aren’t thrown in jail for eating too much. watching too much tv. shopping too much. being on our phones. when we are feeling connected and have purpose we are much less likely to partake in addictive behaviors. please watch and share. connection is key.
